Dry wall it in after removing the electrical. And lower your pictures.

I agree with @ilikefriday, paint it blue to match the wall, it will be less obvious/intrusive. Then put a nice sculpture in there with back lighting from the plug in light. Maybe even consider a decorative night light in that outlet.

I would definitely paint it blue. It looks like it was designed as a niche for an art piece, spotlighted from above. Do you have any sculptures?

Do you like the decor in the rest of the corner? If so, I'd drywall it over. However - if you put something in that niche, the rest of the decor may look "off". If you do keep it, definitely paint it blue.

Does the niche have what you like [a complementing color]? I'd leave it and place almost size of the candle sitting there. It adds a third element to the 2 pieces already on the wall - possibly if it weren't there, someone could say, "why isn't there something to add over the table?" ;)

or the planter.

A neutral candle, if yours is - have you tried it there? so many at Pier 1 or HGoods that would have the blue of the paint nearby... maybe even oval plate for it to sit on, so it's wider.

Holder is 9 x 5" - if you like plates as much as I do - try a pretty one there.

Drywall it and place a larger plant on the floor there. Something like a snake plant or dracaena. The rest of your decor is more comfortable and an art niche seems too fussy for that space. Or drywall over but keep the electrical and hang a fun pendant or sconce in that space, then keep the plant as is.

I agree with the others who say to drywall over it. It's way too much going on "right there" with that niche. What you have is lovely, but the niche is an unneeded element.

drywall it, move the electrical over to the wall above the console and install a picture light or sconce to shine down on the set up you have.

The suggestions to "drywall over" involves much more work because the wall is curved. Better to have a small recessed LED light, with a "pokit" (not a misspell) switch, installed in the top of the niche. Paint niche and light switch trim to match wall.

@chiflipper agreed, the same effect as shown above occurs with painting the niche the same color. I don't have the exact color put this is SW In the Navy.

Drywalling it now, it will stand out, not to mention it will cost more then what will be achieved. Paint it a lighter color blue or leave it and and put a curved picture frame in it.

It my be like a prayer light for Catholic or a plant grow their own like it navy what the rest of the wall so I would do that

Hi Dawn - I would move the plant and stand (MCM) and place a tiered stand in the niche. You could decorate the stand with different things for the seasons, a small plant, small antique figurines, whatever, to go with the rustic style you have going on in your entry. Get a small plug in light to focus on it. I would paint niche a lighter blue or even put some wallpaper in it.

To be honest, I know of no one who doesn't enjoy an occasional thrift shop search for cute and cheap. Ashtonchic's idea is fab [and in niche, instead of on table]. 2 pieces of art, and the niche amounts to a 3rd spot on the wall.

I would fit an LED spot into the electrical there, paint the niche to match the walls and find a really cool piece of sculpture or other pretty item to place there. Otherwise, drywall it closed.

It’s such a cute little spot consider a bunch of terrariums in apocathary jars in different heights and succulents and air plants in open containers in a grouping. My room is navy and I love the look I made and sell these I think they would look great there or use different colors plants and sands to achieve your own look

Also with the light it would really set them off you could even add a beta bowl to your grouping in a jar that fit the shapes of your others the light would be great for the plants and the fish these are only temporary places for my betas while im working on the aquatic plants and sponge filter in their bowls but you get the gist a botanical grouping the live moss and ferns would pop against the navy and the glass would shine under the light
