Bathroom Lighting Advice needed - how many recessed lights in 5x9?
Comments (9)Don't do a recessed light above the sink, you will get shadows. Don't do ONLY a recessed light above the sink. I also used pretty glass tile in the showers and it looks really nice when illuminated with 2 lights and dimmed just a bit. Ambiance lighting for when guests use the full bath downstairs! That sounds so nice! Two additional thoughts, not related to the above note: As you plan your lighting, consider your color scheme. If you're going with today's trendy lots-of-white, maybe-some-gray color scheme, light's going to bounce off those stark whites and could feel harsh. On the other hand, if you're using a softer, darker color scheme, those darker colors will "absorb" some of the light; so you'd need to ask whether you'd need more light fixtures. I like to read in the tub, so I definitely plan to have a light of some sort "behind me" for that purpose....See MoreBathroom light fixture if not a boob light
Comments (9)aprilneverends - I am open to suggestions. I've spent hours and hours looking. The lights aren't that close together so a little difference is OK. I just want to be sure the light fixture isn't real dark. I am trying to find that out and might need to call the company. Donna - at this point I don't want to do more electrical and have to patch drywall. Otherwise that would make life much easier....See MoreMixing Bathroom Light Fixtures with Bathroom Fixtures?
Comments (5)no, it wouldn't I mixed finishes in all my baths..looks pretty natural. I don't even think people notice..they just see bigger picture. Don't mix brushed nickel and polished nickel, or chrome and nickel, these are too close to mix successfuly. ORB is different enough from brushed nickel, and also gives that very neutral feel, it being dark..you should be fine. but you can also cross post your question in Home Decorating forum..there's usually where questions about colors etc. go. Or Bathrooms one..but Home Decorating has more traffic..you 'll get more responces...See MoreBathroom lighting, one light source
Comments (3)iI have overhead lights above the sink but also have a lamp sitting on my vanity. Those are the only two lights I have in my bathroom. The lamp can be any height you want....mine is like a buffet lamp...tall and slim....See MoreHome Interiors with Ease
