Yes, Penney's installed them and it's included in the price. There was only a choice of real wood or composite. Then you could pick your color (they had many colors including stained) You also pick your louver size. They are made my Norman Shutters. Scroll through their website and there are some beautiful pictures. I wonder if different Penney's use different brands???? I only did the front of my house but that included french doors and that sometimes raises the price a bit. So with my 40% off sale, my total for 14 windows and 2 french doors was $6100 and then I got another 10% off for doing the whole house with them. (wood blinds on the back) So that brought it down to $5490 The French doors have a cutout for the lever that I think looks pretty cool. Here is a link that might be useful: Norman Shutters

I am just now researching this same thing. I just ordered faux wood 2" blinds for two bedrooms from J.C. Penny. Really good sale. But the shutter prices were to much $$$$$. I think they quoted me $141.00 per window. I have found some good pricing at netshutters.com around $65.00 for the same window. These are in my kitchen are I need the cafe shutter 19 1/2" wide & I need 26" high. That is just beyond the sash. Now in the master bath I am also doing the cafe shutter and I have three windows mulled together. I need the shutter to be 75" long and 32" high. Again, netshutters had the best price. I asked on this forum about blinds and shutters and someone on here said she got some from this company and was happy with them. They are not the same quality as hunter douglass but lots less $$$$$ Does anyone know where the top of a cafe shutter should be? I thought that it should just about cover the window latch. So I figured 1 inch above the window sash!!

Tomorrow, I will measure the shutters. Our windows aren't quite as wide, so they probably won't work unless you have someone who is a carpenter and could figure out a way to make them fit. The ones I have were made to cover only the lower window (we have double hung as well) because I wanted to have the light and be able to see out from the top half. Boy, I hope this could work.

Your shutters can be trimmed down a small amount. Try to take an equal amount off the top and bottom. Most shutters have wood dowels holding the stiles and rails together. If you cut through the dowel, the panel may come apart. Hope this is helpful.
