Unused indoor grill

I have an indoor charcoal grill at the edge of my small living room. If I use it for grilling, the smells take over the house and the living room gets greasy. I’d much rather use the grill on the porch when weather allows. That said, it takes up a great deal of real estate. I can’t have it removed (the furnace flue also uses this chimney, as does a fireplace in the basement). Any thoughts about what I could do with it? I would LOVE to have a wood fired bake oven, but they all seem to be larger than this opening. As you can see in the photos, there is a wood stove less than 10’ away, so I don’t need it for heat.

The upper opening is 24” wide, 30” deep and 24” high. The lower area is 18” wide, 29” deep and 24.5” high.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
