Voter Suppression Continues in Wisconsin

THOR, Son of ODIN(2)

Because the only way Republicans 'win' is by rigging the vote.

Note, that a voter is already prevented from voting without re-registering if they moved more than 10 days before an election.

There are a number of elections coming soon, including a February primary for Kelly’s Supreme Court seat and a host of local offices, followed by the April general election which is also the presidential primary.

In leaked audio, a top Trump adviser said the Republican party has 'traditionally' relied on voter suppression

  • Leaked audio reveals a top adviser to Trump's 2020 re-election
campaign said "traditionally it's always been Republicans suppressing
votes in places" during an event for Wisconsin Republicans.
  • The senior political adviser, Justin Clark, told the Associated Press that the remarks were referring to historic, false accusations that Republicans engage in voter suppression tactics.
  • But in the recording, obtained by a liberal group and provided to the AP, Clark followed up his statement by saying "Let's start playing offense a little bit. That's what you're going to see in 2020."
  • Clark
made the comments alongside a discussion of what Trump's re-election
strategy in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania will look like – a
"blue wall" of states the president won in 2016.

Because removing the people who moved and the people who died only hurts the crats. We know, we know. I heard AOC might lose her seat in 2020?

So if someone moved 2 weeks ago and hasn't re-registered they can't vote?! That seems pretty extreme.

A person who has moved more than ten days ago must reregister, within 10 days they can still vote using their previous residence's address.
(It used to be 30 days, and with court decisions it has gone back and forth right up to the election day. Causes poll workers a lot of consternation.)

A person who has died cannot vote in Wisconsin.

Extensive research reveals that fraud is very rare.

Yet repeated, false allegations of fraud can make it harder for millions of eligible
Americans to participate in elections.

Of course not. They help hide the over vote. I'm sure LA ended up over 200%.

A comprehensive 2014 study published in The Washington Post
found 31 credible instances of impersonation fraud from 2000 to 2014,
out of more than 1 billion ballots cast. Even this tiny number is likely
inflated, as the study’s author counted not just prosecutions or
convictions, but any and all credible claims.

We know we know, the right doesn’t care if they need to cheat to win. Win by any and all means necessary—-gerrymandering, voter suppression, help from foreign adversaries.....

So re-register.

Funny Elvis, these poor disenfranchised people can muster up the energy to move but not re-register. I guess there are priorities, but that's life.

I have 30 days to register my car after a purchase to pay taxes, if I don't the DMV does not care about things like me moving or don't have time.

I can't find anything about 3.5 million dead people voting in 2016. Can lurker or any of the 4 people that liked it provide a source?

Why is it that no one (especially HIllary, lol) cared about WISCONSIN until Trump WON WISCONSIN?

You can register right at the polling place in Wisconsin, just bring proof of residence.

Yup. We're real good about that up here. But Lena knows that.

Whoops. All this is covered on my pre-existing thread, and more: https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/5838371/wisc-judge-orders-voter-reg-rolls-purge#n=64

Most people do not bring proof of residency to their polling place if they don't realize they have been purged from the database.

So far, 2,300 people
(out of 234,039) have responded to the commission’s letters saying they
live at the same address, while 16,500 have registered to vote at a new
address. These numbers are not unusual. In a 2017 purge, the commission
sent letters to 335,702 people, but only 6,153 returned their cards.
(Voters often inadvertently throw away these kinds of notifications; in
Ohio, two-thirds of recipients
thought they were junk mail.) Another 4,917 people did not respond but
later voted at their original address, indicating that ERIC wrongly
flagged them.

Moreover, officials in Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Hobart
found ERIC’s report unreliable enough that they refused to deactivate
anyone, preserving the registration of another 38,430 residents.

FYI IT BECOMES VOTER SUPPRESSION when policy is applied unequally and favoring one group of voters over another.

ex: when student ID's are not considered acceptable ID for voting but conceal carry permits are.

ex: drivers licenses and non-driving IDs only obtainable at motor vehicle offices which are more plentiful and open more hours in suburban areas vs. urban city centers and rural counties. These places often not accessible by people without car (eg poor, or elderly).

ex: targeting only certain geographic areas to cull registrations.

NOTE THAT requiring ID in and of itself is not voter suppression - as long as process of obtaining the IDS is fair , equitable, easily accessible across all voter groups. Many states have had voter ID for decades that havent been contested by anyone - generally these are easily obtained by mail (like passports are) via county clerks office. These are specficaly voting ID's and dont favor any one group of people.

hope that helps.

And that proof would be?

Funny thing is GOP policies are unpopular, so how do they win? Let's guess...

And how entertaining is it that folks who appear to have no idea of what low income folks' lives are really like today seem so darn sure of their own wisdom?

FYI, an AP story in 01/15/2020 Omaha World-Herald indicates a Wisconsin appeals court has put on hold the order to immediately remove up to 209,000 names from the state's voter registration rolls while the court fight continues.

The crats need the ghost vote and the illegal alien vote. They could never win an honest election.
