One can understand why the US has announced it will put a more rigorous vetting process in place.

Barr just announced it was a terrorist act on American soil. So let's just expel them ? That's it? Where did the red line go? Oh I know , he never meant Saudi terrorists, just other terrorists.

I think we should. Let them sort out their mess using their own soldiers.

And no K9s for them either.

Nana: Barr just announced it was a terrorist act on American soil. So let's just expel them ? That's it? Where did the red line go?

Nana, the shooter acted alone, so he's the only one that committed the act of terrorism.

From the OP: The Saudis being ousted are not accused of conspiring with the shooter, a 21-year-old member of the Royal Saudi Air Force, CNN reported.

21 Saudi students being expelled, including some from bases other than Pensacola, because of material found in their social media accounts.

That info, and the parts below, are from an updated Vox article I found. But the filter isn't happy when I try to link it here (because the link title has words explaining the problem with the nature of the social media by these disgusting Saudi students.)

At a Monday press conference, Attorney General William Barr stated that the shooter was “motivated by jihadist ideology” and that the attack “was an act of terrorism,” but that there “was no evidence of any affiliation or involvement with any terrorist activity or group.”

Barr said the shooter acted alone, and there was no evidence that other Saudi trainees at the base participated or had any foreknowledge of the attack.

Since they aren't able to demonstrate the 21 participated in criminal acts, they should be removed from our country. Good riddance. And the US had better vastly improve the vetting.

I haven't seen it reported on but how long have we been having Saudis (other countries too for that matter) come to our military bases for training. Has the number increased as of late or is this normal to have so many?

Has Trump spoken out harshly about this? Has he condemned SA for crossing a red line and killing American soldiers on American soil? Has he demanded SA rid itself of terrorists.

Saudi Arabians were responsible for 911 and clearly many have deep seeded hatred for the US.......but what the hell they have oil, money and great business opportunities for the Trump's. It's all good.

I was looking for info about that too, Izzy (great minds think alike?)

Training programs for foreign military personnel have been going on since the 1940's. The current program (IMET) was established by an act in 1976. In December, we had 5181 students from 153 different countries here for security training.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Military_Education_and_Training

I'm still having a hard time finding current info about increases, but I found this:

IMET has grown considerably during the administrations of George W. Bush
and Barack Obama, from a budget of $50 million in FY 2000 to $108
million in FY 2010, a 70% increase. It has continued to grow during the
administration of Barack Obama, with a projected budget of more than
$102 million for FY 2013.
More than 120 countries were funded by IMET in
FY 2010.

http://www.allgov.com/departments/department-of-defense/international-military-education-training-imet?agencyid=7378

However, several websites I found showed that even though the funding increased dramatically, the number of students served by that funding had decreased (around 2010 anyway) by about 14%.

Still looking for info specifically about Saudi Arabia too.

Makes prefect sense ...oh and Americans are getting paid by the Saudis to have American troops deployed there . Why not? They aren't worth much sitting home getting paid for doing nothing. (sarc)

Liberals are concerned about American lives all of the sudden??? That is something new! We just had a very reveling discussion about ''top military official'' Soleimani, didn't we? Or it's ''the soil'' that matters?

The point is, is Trump concerned? Has he spoken up about these SA terrorists yet,? What is really his red line? SA oil apparently.

You are mistaken, nana. One soldier committed the murders. He's dead. The article explains what the others did to get themselves kicked out.
