Iron railing on Juliet balcony
Comments (0)I need to paint some iron railing on a house. There is currently small rust spots here and there and the original paint (only about 5 years old) is fading grey from black. I need to paint it flat black. After I sand away the rust, what would be the recommended process? We want to repaint with a flat black. What would be the best type of paint? (Oil, latex, other?) Thanks!...See MoreCurved Stair/Balcony Handrail: Different Pattern on Inside Stair Rail?

Comments (5)I like your inspiration. The price sounds reasonable to me but I would get another quote to compare. If the stairs bother you and the change is affordable I wouldn't worry about the ROI. ROI would depend on the condition of similar homes in your area and the cost of the new railing as a percentage of the total value of the home. Keep in mind that you will enjoy the change until you sell and the updated railings will probably help your house sell faster....See MoreStair and Indoor balcony railing
Comments (1)Thank you! This is a new area, so the flooring installer would install them. The only things I could find remotely similar were very pricey ~$15 each, compared to just a straight bar for a couple dollars. I am thinking about maybe some hammered bars that are around $5. Maybe add a little bit of texture so it doesn't seem so modern and overbearing?...See MoreJennifer Svensson
