Please Show Your "Most" Beautiful Rose (s)
Comments (269)Carol, Eglantyne is sooo ruffly and a great bloomer! Eglanryne will probably bloom all summer for you same as me because we dont get as hot as Diane’s summers. Diane’s Evelyn is a beauty! Can’t wait to see Evelyn in my garden! You will love them both!!!. i am sure you can find some Austin supplier, hopefully from Phoenix P. Rain water does do well on roses! They love that soft ”no chenicals,” water. Maybe you need a water softener on your hose? Is your water usually ”hard?” D Austins are supposed to bloom more than most rosess-they are shrub roses w/ abundant blooms. I have DAs: PAoK, Anne Bolyne, Desdemona, Harlow Carr, Munstead W., Eglantyne, Abe, Princess Anne, Lich. Angel, B Cadfael, Mary Rose, Heritage, Strawberry Hill, James Galway, & Mayflower and they all bloom constantly. Mary Rose blooms the most, but a few are too new to show their stuff much, yet. I ordered Evelyn, Emily Bronte, Eutacia Vye, Roald Dahl, Silas Marner, Queen of Sweden-we will see how they perform. Carol, Could Straw ship Austin roses to you? I suppose you both wouod deal with shipping fliwers border certification....See MoreRegan online bare root ordering will end soon (Jan 31st)
Comments (29)I got 'Cherry Frost', 'The Pilgrim' (to replace one I lost to RRD), and 'Good Day Sunshine'. Can't find GDS anywhere else (yet) - thanks for the warning to get these ordered, Bayarea_girl! I'm confident 'Cherry Frost' will show up at own-root vendors like Northland, High Country, and Roses Unlimited in the next few years, but a 2-year old bareroot is a good jumpstart for climbers. GDS is grafted - I'd prefer own-root like the other two, but I don't know if/when we'll see this one hit other vendors. May the roses you want be in stock, and good luck with your bare-roots Gardenweb!...See MoreRegan Nursery will open for bare root ordering on September 7th, 2020
Comments (60)Regan’s called me last week to tell me they couldn’t ship to Mississippi. I’m so bummed! I hate losing all those roses that were on my list. A local nursery has Sweet Spirit sothats a plus. This was just unexpected. Honestly I was most excited about Easy Does It. This one had been on my wishlist for years. Also, another local nursery has some Brindabellas but they lost the tags so won’t know the colors for another few weeks. I’ll probably pick up a few sweet spirits and a few brindabellas to cover what I would have received from regan’s. Has this happened to anyone else? Just don’t know why they waited so long to contact me when I ordered first thing in Sept....See MoreWHITE ROSES: 2021 Color Threads
Comments (149)@rosecanadian, Carol, Yes, I love tge lighter pinks, but there is something magical about Eden… she is huge now and I have bought another Eden for other side of bay window, too. Her blooms are English appearance, delicate. Heirloom Roses has the best video if oruning her-she has such captivating majestic blooms. But she bloomed only one flush this 2nd year and few blooms in summer. I hope she will bloom more next year… going to fertilize her a lot! I posted her on recent Eden thread… Many day she blooms more co tinual after a few years. Francis Meilland is a dream rose-bloomed 3 flushes first year. FM Blooms are very big-majestic!! The ohotos never show how big they really are-ir capture tgeir real beauty. They are both an ”eye popping ” surprise when they bloom! Check out thread ”Eden Climbing Rose blooming question,” for EDEN PHOTOS-ALL TYPES OF EDENS… My photos… hope others will post…. https://www.houzz.com/discussions/4013161/eden-climbing-rose-blooming-question...See Morecyndita (west coast zone 9)
