Comments (7)"Even a smooth wall has many different degrees of texture." I hope you mean roller stipple or brush marks. As long as the wall is uniform in these it will look fine. That is why 'touching up' a rolled wall shows if you use a brush, and the brush cut in around rolled area shows as a slightly different paint texture. Cutting in wider than needed and then not rolling as close as possible makes the effect even more noticeable. Comments (8)I consider that a severe mold problem. It can be DIY if you have the skills needed to demolish and replace the drywall - including the ceiling. If the studs are infected as well, that may require more specialized skill than the average DIY homeowner. You'll need to call in a professional to assess and resolve the ventilation issues - for sure. Health risks of living with mold include migraines, nausea, respiratory duress and rashes, to name a few. Those symptoms can be amplified to dangerous levels if one has or develops an allergy to mold. It's not acceptable to live this way. Comments (14)Before deciding on the wall, I’m sort of wondering about the layout. The furniture feels squeezed in and if adjusted, you may decide to treat wall differently. For example, you could add moulding and paint that wall a deep shade, placing desk in front, which would better balance room. Would feel something like below. ...but with molding.
