I planted Julia Child last spring. Very good growth and bloom. I thought I had a picture of it but I guess I don't.

Winter Sun doesn’t always have those lighter petals at the edge of the bloom. I like them, though.

this miniflora decided to grow in a most graceful and attractive way!

kristine I love your teasing Georgia. I planted one this year, it grew well but the blooms were super pale and not pretty.

I highly suggest this yellow that will be officially released 2021 but there giving early bare roots ... look at the same on that bloom .

I don’t have any yellows yet. I think it may be my least favorite color. That said, I do feel like I need at least one true yellow (I have Gruss an Aachen and have Emily Brontë coming who both have a bit of yellow to them) but I can’t decide which. I’ve been leaning toward Molineux because I like how he has peachy/apricot highlights sometimes that give it a richer color. Any other recommendations? Cold hardy is a must, and my garden is prone to BS so disease resistance is appreciated!

Prairie Harvest is tough, never see blackspots on this one, even during fall rain. It's 6th-year-own-root. Leaves are light green & shiny. About 2.5 tall x 2 wide in zone 5. Strong scent is fresh & clean & better than Austin myrrh's. I don't spray, and Jim in PA also likes his PH.

Its yellow color is more intense in cold fall. It's the yellow on lowest right:

I love that Prairie Harvest is a Buck (I have Prairie Star). From what I’ve read, they perform so well in cold zones. I looked on HMF...some pictures show an almost apricot color and others show some pink shades on the outer petals. Have you seen these colorations on yours at all Straw? I wouldn’t mind the variability of the color if that is a typical trait.

Prairie Harvest is the best looking bush (besides French Romanticas) in my garden. It's perfect vase shaped, no messy canes like Austins. If your soil is high in phosphorus yellow blooms will have apricot to pink shades. My soil is high in magnesium so blooms stay yellow.

I gave away Charles Darwin since its bloom is beige or fades in my alkaline clay, but Prairie Harvest's light yellow is pretty & glows in in cool weather.

Another yellow THAT NEVER FADE, and stays deep yellow even with spent blooms is Honey Bouquet .. this needs serious winter protection, or planted at least 6 inch. below ground. Floribundas like Honey Bouquet have short roots and need constant moisture in winter. Never see blackspots on below Honey Bouquet:

@strawchicago z5, I was planning to get few more yellows this year, Charles Darwin is one of them. Your comments make me puzzled

Charles Darwin with its zillion petals needs ungodly amount of acidic rain water. Ingrid in CA got rid of her Charles Darwin a long time ago. Even with my 40 inch. of rain in few months of zone 5a summer, that wasn't enough for Charles Darwin. Its bloom are beige (like dirty toilet paper). My alkaline clay can't make yellow out of Charles Darwin, The problem with Charles Darwin: it's DEEP CUP which demand more water than shallow cup. And its zillion petals demand ungodly amount of water and SOLUBLE minerals to form. The only way I could make it bloom: doused it with SOLUBLE fertilizer and water it constantly. NOT WORTH it when Honey Bouquet and Prairie Harvest bloom easily at near 100 F & less water.

Straw - What a gorgeous yellow rose...and hardy to boot!! Out of all the roses in that lovely bouquet...I like Prairie Harvest the best...and this surprises me! Gorgeous Honey Bouquet...and I love the brighter colors...so I'm surprised that I really love Prairie Harvest!! :) :)

I put that information about Charles Darwin in my notebook...I'm going to see if I can improve mine next year. Thanks!
