I love my new Window/Window Treatments
Comments (21)Thanks, again. LOL, yes, those little people that live here. You see, the window doesn't move and talk back! I did just now get back in commission with my camera and laptop so I took a few of little red out of the bath this morning. She is just getting over being sick. The other two are from their b'day party which they had together. I promise more to come! Linda - I don't think I would want these for a kitchen. Just not practical I think. I think the only colors were linen and this yellow/gold. Sally - My next couch will have no removable cushions:)...See MoreWindow treatment opinions...think I made a mistake :(
Comments (33)Love your new blinds, both for adding more view and light to the interior and continuity with the siding to the exterior. May I suggest that you consult with other GW members regarding the sheers as side panels. I think you need a fabric with more "heft" to balance out the weight of your upholstery fabric. Hang the panels floor to ceiling just on the sides so that they just barely cover the ends of the blinds. Also, adding a fabric with pattern would bring some interest and life to the room. These suggestions may be out of your comfort zone but please check out houzz and gather opinions. Home Depot and Lowes are other options that have nice ready made side panels....See MoreNew lake house needs window treatments - please help!
Comments (14)Congrats on your pretty lake house! We used to have a cute one and I loved it, but the very long and frequent drive to enjoy it became tough. Anyway, I think lake houses call for as minimal window treatments as possible. Drapes on those windows in that style house just don't seem right. Instead, I'd consider less formal and more "lake-ish" café curtains mounted at the halfway mark under the six-light uppers if that would provide the privacy you're looking for when the curtains are closed. I'd put a Roman shade on the kitchen window....See MoreAdvice needed for new home window treatments
Comments (4)I agree on front of the house bedrooms, but it won’t be grandkids’ space, which will be the middle room connected to the front room of the Jack and Jill bath. There’s a gorgeous view of a pond in all the rooms on the back of the house, which are a sun room, family room, breakfast room and master bedroom. That didn’t leave other options for seldom used bedrooms. Here is the floor plan, along with a couple of photos. The first photo is looking in through the foyer; second is looking at the pond from the master bedroom. There are cedar beams in several places. There will be white oak engineered flooring through out most of it where there’s not tile. That was an early floor plan, so the flooring listed may not be accurate. I would say the style is craftsman with some elements of modern farmhouse. I think the woven wood blinds with blackout liner will be lovely in rooms where there has to be light control. So far, until we live in the house, that will only be the front bedroom and master bedroom. Thank you for your help! I’m just wanting a uniform look on the front - so thinking a dark liner will match the darkness of uncovered windows. I don’t want to put up blinds on the second floor at all for now, as it will be unfinished for a while....See Morebac717
