Beautiful tile! My only concern is if it will be too dark without any other darker elements to ground it. Consider maybe at least a mid-tone counter. Here are a few examples... so decide whether you like it!

I like it, but I not sure about the grey grout - it would depend on the color of grey. Do some sample boards first, compare to the countertop, cabinets, and floor to make sure it isn't too dark (you don't want a black hole on the blackspash). Only you can tell if you will get sick of it.

The good news is that you have time to decide. Ideally, backsplash selection happens after the counters are in. I love the color, and if there's enough natural light, and a good lighting plan in the space I think it could be lovely. Order samples, dream and drool over them, then collect some inspiration images online.

Your choices: white cabinets, concrete counters, and blue tile, brought to mind one of my favorite MCM renovations... Their tile color is lighter, but you get the picture...

One word of advice regarding tile installation: I find it maddening that the tiles in the image above the range hood are juuuust out of sequence with the tiles below it. If you are the kind of person who will notice that, hire a professional to do the installation.

That is lovely! Andy very close to what I am hoping to achieve. The lighting is a concern so I will pick up a sample from the store and bring it home to stare at.

I would get tired of it...it would dominate the space. You could use the color sparingly in towels, soap dispenser, art, window treatments for a less powerful and less permanent accent.

If it’s long been a favorite color of yours, no I don’t think you’ll tire of it. I’m 2.5 years past my kitchen re-do, and I love my blue backsplash even more than before. Here’s mine, went with medium grey grout, its more cobalt than teal, but may give you a feel for how a colorful bold backsplash can look. Also to show how different it looks under the hood lights compared to undercounter LEDs by the bar area

Are you open to a lighter blue? I had my heart set on aqua glass backsplash tile, and after ordering several samples I ended up with one from Wayfair. While the scale is larger than I wanted at 4"x12", is was the perfect color for me, so in the game of Kitchen Remodel Concessions, the color won, size lost. ;) Bonus, it was the cheapest per square foot of the ones I got samples of.

Note that it's not quite that vibrant turquoise in reality, more like a light blue aqua. Absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait for it to get on my wall in the near(ish) future!

I love your tile! I'm doing a turquoise backsplash, and I can't wait! It's been my favorite color most of my life, goes so well with our style, and shouldn't overwhelm since we're keeping our palette restrained (the turquoise will repeat through other rooms along with touches of coral, off white and light wood tones). If you want it, go for it!

I think you will love that counter and tile combo! I have a teal backsplash with wood cabinets and a light grey counter. I love it. It's been almost six years and it still makes me happy every day. If it helps, my counters are CS honed pebble and my backsplash is one of Fireclay's old glass tiles. For awhile Fireclay stopped offering glass tiles, but they have them again, in new colors. Mine looks similar to their Magpie color. And the grout we used was grey btw.

The right LED lighting under the upper cabinets will tell the tale!

I meet the electrician on Monday. Any recommendations for under the cabinet lighting? I was looking at Lee Valley LED tape lighting. The last under the cabinet lighting I had seemed like fluorescent and I did not like it - it made a slight buzzing sound too).

For undercab lighting you ideally want LED, with a frosted cover (diffuses the light so you don't have a line of dots on your counter), and USER selectable color temperature. We went with LifX as a solution, but it is a plug in.

We have plugmold and unless you squat down you can't see the lighting plug, but that is something to be prepared for. We planned to plug it into outlets inside the cabinets but when push came to shove and I had to drill holes in my precious quartersawn oak ... I said, "lets use the plugmold before I deface these beauties ..." And as usual, the first solution wins because it is good enough.

We used aluminum channels for the LifX strips to slide into, it is easy to work with. A hacksaw cuts it and it has little clips to hold it to the wall (attached with small screws to the underside of the cabinets).

Best/worst aspect is that you can get creative with the color of the light (red for valentines day, green for St Pattys day) and how they are turned on/off. Ours turn on via a small motion sensor that is mounted to the door to our garage - if anyone is moving around in the kitchen they come on and stay on until there is no motion for 15 minutes (this is all configurable from your phone). Right now, ours are set to turn on at half strength at night, almost like a nightlight. And one is blue at night (because someone here really likes blue and thought it would be neat ... this is the downside to all this flexibility, LOL).

We are six years past our kitchen remodel and still love our backsplash. Out cabinets are obviously not white but if it’s a color you have always liked it should stand the test of time for you.

You need to get samples and do sample boards with different grout colors to know if it will work. Will you get sick of it ? Who knows? As others have said, the rest of the kitchen will be done first so you can hold up those sample boards and get a good feel for it. If you’ve loved that color your whole life, I doubt you would get tired of it.

I like the color contrast. We went with a blend of blue-grey-cranberry with our white cabinets, and used slate blue island.

If you're willing to share more photos of your space, I'd greatly appreciate it. I too will have white cabinets and white/marble look quartz, and am really considering this tile!
