Long Living room layout help needed- where to place furniture
Comments (1)Hello Jess, Can we get the measurements of the room? That will help a lot. Then we can help with the layout. Some more questions for you: How many people will be using the room daily? How many guests do you want to accommodate? What do you want this room to be, living room, family room, main TV room, great room that includes a dining area? Please give us this info so we can help. We look forward to hearing from you....See MoreLaundry Room/Bedroom/Bathroom Layout Help Needed
Comments (3)Thanks, Patricia. A few reasons for moving the laundry room; first, the majority of the laundry is coming from/lives upstairs so we prefer to not have to haul the laundry up and down stairs to wash then put away (our previous home had laundry on the floor with the bedrooms and we loved it). Second, the current laundry space is pretty sub-optimal taking over the only entrance to the house from the garage and more than anything we need that space for a mudroom/storage. We only need two bedrooms upstair max which is why we're comfortable losing one to become some laundry/bathroom configuration....See MoreDining room layout help needed
Comments (20)Hi @Jennifer I don't usually do furniture plans for houzzers, but I love your house so much I decided to spend some time on it. Here's my take on the dining room. It's a very good size, but you have three doorways which makes furniture arranging a challenge. I would definitely place the china cabinet on the long wall. To deal with the door issue, you might consider removing the narrow double doors to the kitchen OR put in floor stops so that the doors don't hit the cabinet or chair. Even with the doors open, they are only about 18" wide, so the one on the cabinet side wouldn't protrude too far beyond it. The other door to ? could be kept closed most of the time, especially when entertaining in the dining room. This would assume that there is not much traffic through that door. Then to balance out the room, I'd add a corner piece where noted. It could be a grandfather clock or a small corner cabinet. Assuming you have 8 chairs, place 6 around the table as shown on the plan, and store the other 2 on the perimeter, flanking a small console/server/lowboy. Also the room can handle a 9' x 12' area rug. The wall between the windows could hold a large portrait or artwork, but I'd keep that area clear of furniture as a walkway. Hope this helps you!...See MoreDen layout help needed! make it cozy
Comments (16)make sure you measure well. I think bed and bath carries them too. you can do white if you want a brighter look. ivory will be an off-white this is how I picture your room. the white stone painted, maybe some built ins underneath the windows. these drapes, slip covers, blue/white pillows, vintage wood table, some type of rug if you used Romabio on your stone, you'd get this look. get some shelving for beneath those windows here's a regular white sip cover, blue/white rug, leather ottoman sisal rug, leather pouf, taupe slip cover, pillows, green garden stool, painted stone fireplace check out this link for ikea slipcovers https://www.lizmarieblog.com/2017/04/ikea-sofa-slipcover-makeover/ here's windows like yours. diff fireplace (if you decide to do a makeover on yours, consider this) this is a good idea for wall art. inexpensive black/white prints, framed in oversized frames just like this. carefully line them up on the wall. https://designingvibes.com/the-real-truth-about-white-slipcover-furniture/...See Moreshirlpp
