Help! Will this back-splash work?
Comments (18)If your choice were only between to 2 you originally posted, I'd choose the one on the right--the cream one. From the photos it looks like it works very well with your quartzite. The gray one is "off" just enough not to look pleasing. However, as many have noted, either one is more difficult to clean than a smooth surface. What sort of cook are you--very neat or more devil-may-care? If you are very neat and do not splash much when you cook, then you may get away with the split-faced marble, but if you are a more exuberant cook, you may find it a challenge to clean. The mother of pearl is very formal and quite busy, so it's going to compete with the counter tops as well. Personally, I would use a smooth crackle tile in a tan/beige tone to work with your quartzite. Simple is always good....See MorePaint color for Perla Vernada / Taj Mahal w/ dark cabinets. HELP
Comments (9)I think the colors you chose which you show on the back wall are too dark with the dark cabinets. Regardless, anybody can say, "oh, this is the perfect color for your space". Until you sample as you know. I think you could go a shade or two lighter. The bulbs you choose for the cans make a huge different and natural light as well. High up things will look a bit different than lower and..... I just completed a space in City Loft, it was very pretty and it is a white, but a cool light gray and in the space didn't lean in any direction except gray with a lot of natural light and a lot of cans and pendants over an island. Silver plate a is a beautiful, slightly cool gray that hits JUST the spot when you’re looking for a gray that isn’t too ‘this’ or too ‘that’. Again, any paint needs to be tested in your own space. It's a daunting task, but worth it! Silver plate can be very pretty with very good amount of light or it falls battle ship. close x...See MoreBacksplash against Taj Mahal - how busy?
Comments (34)That slab is gorgeous! Your choices looks beautiful! I like that the stone has some very light turquoise swirls to bring in the colors of the glass tiles. Maybe even if it is a marble, it won’t be so bad in a bathroom? Shoots I thought I had a better photo of the bathroom to show you. I did glass tile for the waterfall and then the backs of the two niches. My thought for the shower floor was to look kind of like lava rock. This is our little hawaii cottage. Yes the window is spun upside down. 😆 Vanity and sparkle white quartz is the same as kitchen. And also I have admired your kitchen for a while! I love the fantasy brown and backsplash! Comments (2)I do think something sleek would look great with your cabinets. Here is a post showing TM slab backsplash (after a lot of other things that would not fit with your vision) https://www.houzz.com/discussions/6338278/backsplash-suggestions-for-taj-mahal-quartzite Several more kitchens with TM slab backsplash https://www.houzz.com/discussions/6149982/will-this-taj-mahal-slab-also-look-good-for-the-backsplash Personally I think it is lovely and would bring some movement and organic feel to the kitchen....See MoreSusan Dobson
