Help for my outdated kitchen
Comments (5)Please, don't insist that your landlord install knobs- ask nicely but don't expect results. This IS a rental and it's pretty standard in rentals with box store cabinets for them not to have knobs. Knobs are not a necessity for opening the cabinets and knobs on rental cabinets tend to go missing and have to be replaced every few years, so most landlords aren't going to open to that. Not to mention the time and expense of installing them. You'd be amazed what some great colorful decorative accessories and throw rugs will do for a white kitchen. Yes, I have rental property and I'm always amazed at how each tenant spruces up a white apartment to make it their own....See MoreOutdated kitchen nightmare
Comments (65)Your realtor must be getting a kick back from a contractor. Did he/she recommend anyone to do the work for you? Other than decluttering, your kitchen looks fine. Your kitchen wouldn't keep me from buying your house. Whatever you do, don't install painted bead board as a backsplash. It may be trendy, but it is not practical for anyone that actually cooks, and those potential buyers will know that they will have to tear that out almost immediately....See MoreOutdated mountain kitchen
Comments (2)These are limited photos and angles, so this is just food for thought... I'd look at 1) counter depth fridge because it jumps out into the kitchen too much. 2) Delete peninsula because it makes the whole seating area tight (but we will offset that loss with (3). 3) Extend the wall where the fridge is out further (since you get rid of peninsula) to gain counter and storage there. 4) Extend uppers, lowers, and counter to the window. 5) case the counter depth fridge so you don't see the side of it. It feels like this would open up the kitchen a lot, and the gains down each side would offset losing the peninsula. Color wise, it's tough. I always like a white/bright kitchen ....See More1970's Outdated Kitchen remodel-layout ideas.
Comments (8)suedonim75- when we have company over, everyone either goes to the living room or the family room. The kitchen currently feels closed off from both. I don't want to knock down the two walls (one adjoining the dining room, and the other into the living room) because I would lose all my cabinet space. Was wondering if there was a way of solving this by knocking down wall into FR instead. (may not be possible, but wanted to see if anyone has tried it)...See MoreJAN MOYER
