Has anyone used this product . I’m thinking of using it so it will match my floors. I have carpet on my steps so I will need to add a white riser. I can find 3/8 with white finish but wonder if that would shorten the depth of my step. https://www.versatrim.com/versatread-stair-tread.html

@hallettco, it's been a long day.....totally forgot the OP said LVP in her first post between my first comment and second comment. I was looking at what appeared to be solid wood in the pic she posted. FWIW, my builder installed red oak treads after we had very light white oak flooring installed and he clear coated them. It's not off terribly but it's been a bone of contention between us. It's not horrible but he gave us a discount so I'm living with them for now :/

You don't need to remove the quarter round if you do a water fall installation that just folds down over the the nosing and then is attached at the back corner of the riser and tread. If you are talking about where the staircase transitions from an open riser and railing to where it is a closed riser and a wall, I would Not step the width in. I think the uniform appearance of the runner from the front is more important than exposure of the tread being equal on treads that vary in width. In my area custom binding that much carpet into individual stair treads would be expensive. My bound rugs, one of which has a shape other than rectangular, the binding was charged by the linear inch.
