The solenoid is on top of your electric valve. If its a new install you probably have something wired wrong. You can test the solenoid with an OHM meter and if it reads between 20-50 with the power off the solenoid is fine.

I hear ya!! There are tons of them available for very good prices but they all have cotton heads, I honestly have never seen one with anything other than a cotton head, the rayon is what seems to make it hard to find and apparently costly. My cleaning lady uses an industrial size mop and the big yellow wringer caddy on wheels she gets hers at janitor supply stores. I have seen them at costco and sams too but I would bet they are all cotton. What is special about the rayon? Finally I can put my little Grey Pearl to rest without believing I am to blame. I'm stll sad though. Blue for You can be decidedly gray at times and is moderately healthy and hardy here. Gets BS without fungicide but survises without it. PIcture below shows more of the warm tone, cool temps bring out the blue.
