Pinkish brick ranch (pink) - need help with trim/siding/garage color

Please help! My wood trim and gables are currently being replaced with siding. My house is primarily all brick. The brink is a pinkish (salmon - red) color.

The top picture is before work started, the bottom image is work in progress. After reading through other posts - it appears a brown-grey would work best, but I am unclear what to use for trim/fascia, soffits, gables and what to use around the vertical window. The roof is GAF Barkwood Brown. Thanks!

I agree on the door. We are repainting it blue :). The weathered moss matches the mortar in the brick.

can the wood above the large window be removed entirely?

No. I would have to remove the brick/ remortar, find the same color brick, etc. I considered putting siding there, but I think it would make the house look shorter. I could stain it. We are adding a cedar beam in the entryway below the trim.

Odd that your lantern lights at the front door are not mounted at the same height. I would correct that. New ones should be 1/3 the door's height. You might consider picking a darker gray from the stone and painting the brick that color to unify the house. You should be able to find a brick that is close enough in style to replace the medallions before you paint it all one color. Check out Romabio for new high tech masonry paints and washes with less maintenance. Once the body of the house is gray, the white trim will be ideal. What are you thinking regarding landscaping? I would certainly remove those two tall bushy shrubs in front.

We are allowed to paint the garage door. I was thinking of adding shutters as well. Maybe black since the front door is black but that could be changed. You can use any color it just has to be approved. The neighborhood has a variety of colors. The trim needs to be some version of white or off white, all though there is a brown trim in the neighborhood

I think the first thing I would do is paint the front doors, that red is really throwing things off.

I would stain it to blend away, I think its a strange detail to complete with the rest of the look. stain i think would be better than a "color" Not to say I dont like it i do but i wonder if it fits now?

curious why you want to add more "going on" to the front of the house, and I also think the siding there would make it appear taller and also bring some symmetry

I had a friend tell me I should do the gables, trim, soffits, and garage all in one color. SW 7018 Dovetail Grey or something similar.

Nice house and yard.

Consider choosing a dark bold brown for the fascia/soffit (and, perhaps, around your bold red door) but leave all the window trim white. A lighter brown for the siding you're adding would work well.

If the additional work to be done is changing out the windows, replace the large ?fixed? window with a pair that open and consider choosing black frames. You could then consider choosing a dark bold brown for window trim as well.

Are you getting a new roof that’s Barkwood or is the roof that we see in the picture already Barkwood?

It appears that there is a wide board frame added around the window to the left of the door. Is that new and are wider frames being added to all windows? Were you painting that white, too?

I would love to replace the window, but it's not in my budget. :(. It would solve a lot of design problems.

Just realized you're painting your front door blue; if so, keep your trim around it white.

Is that liriope your'e trying to get started lining the sidewalk? Mature plants can begin to overlap a sidewalk, though, so planting it a little bit away from the sidewalk is a good move.

@suezbell - we replaced all the wood with siding. Yes, that window has been reframed (as shown).
