We are working with architect on an addition to a house we recently purchased. The existing home is about 1,800 sf under air. We are adding ~850 sf. I have posted the existing and remodeled version. The home is in South Florida and here are a couple of notes.

• front of the house faces west
• having an open floor plan concept with kitchen that overlooks the great room is high priority.
• we have extended the garage portion in the front to work in some modern elements to the elevation.
• the dotted rectangle on the updated version is a fish tank that will be removed. We still need to explore how easy/hard it will be to move that wall that adjoins the garage. So that part is still an unknown until we can open the wall and investigate.

I don’t love the kitchen layout but we seem to be a bit limited. Looking for your thoughts and advice on the overall plans.
