California Dreamin' or Secret?
Comments (5)I have both and I get summer temps in the 100s. SECRET for me has never been a real good performer except in the fall. It doesn't bloom all that great and only has one or two at a time. It's planted in a semi-shady area, where other roses do very well. Could just be a bad plant tho. It's probably 15yrs old. CALIFORNIA DREAMIN' did nothing the first couple yrs. Finally last yr it bloomed pretty decently. It was in a big pot, but I planted it in the ground in the late fall, so maybe it will do even better this yr. It has prettier blooms with much more vivid coloring....See MoreCalifornia dreamin of June weather!
Comments (16)You people in LA and the Bay Area have it made with the nice weather. Here in the Central Valley it got up to almost 100 yesterday and for tuesday its supposed to go up to 100 and for wednesday like 102. I used to hate it but now that i'm close to my 30's when I see how fast a Tomatoe garden grows in this area and how the organic apples from my dad's backyard are the best tasting and juiciest apples i've ever tasted then the hot weather reminds me of that and it makes me smile. For me entertainment is definitely gardening, specially with all the good tips I read from gardenweb's forums it gets me more into it lol....See MoreVase of California Dreamin' & Mellow Yellow
Comments (5)What a wonderful bouquet to share with us for this upcoming Easter holiday! Thank you!!! One Of the things I love about MELLOW YELLOW is that it's cheery coloration does not fade in scorching hot weather. And CALIFORNIA DREAMIN' lol, I am sooo there! I grew up up in southern California as a young girl back when it was a paradise for me, my friends, and relatives! Such fond memories...sigh. Thanks again, hon! :~D...See MoreCalifornia Dreamin'
Comments (13)I agree with Htnspz, you have wonderful taste and a lovely home. I'm another one who loves the Spanish inluence in a home. I have a question: before we had this home built, we looked at a gorgeous one on the Tanoan golf course down in Albuquerque, as DH is an avid golfer. We ended up not buying it because we learned that many of the homes along the course there had broken windows on a regular basis from stray golf balls. That was 18 years ago. Are they using a special glass for windows now? Lynn...See MoreMoses, Pittsburgh, W. PA., zone 5/6, USA
