Need help to decorate my living room(basement)
Comments (14)yh. i thought about that sofa&bed solution but my bedroom is upstairs so i dont really need to go after that solution. a corner sofa would be defo great for that space dont you think? Another thing is that these wicker chairs are bought to be outside in the alley :) we bought them a couple of days ago. That space will be used to watch sports on telly and play games on the playstation and watching movies of course so i dont believe that chairs are a good solution to have here. A couch will be a better solution because i can stretch my legs out :D oh and when football's on we need more action and a little less conversation like the song goes :) I've got 2 computers. the one next to the stairs is an old one so i wont keep it. the other which is functional will be placed next to the WC door as you can see. i think there is enough space for an 1m desk and an office chair with wheels. I used to have a computer armoire but i hate them......See MoreNeed suggestions from the Pros...help w/ my desk area, please!
Comments (3)Hmmm...you probably do not want to close up the wall above the current bar...but you could still put a calendar, etc. on the side walls. As to your comments/question, are you saying you will have 41" b/w the desk's counter edge and the island's counter edge? If the aisle b/w the desk & island is a walkway, then 41" may not even be enough room for an aisle. let alone any kind of seating! The appropriate aisle width depends on... (1) how much traffic there is in the aisle (through-traffic as well as kitchen traffic) (2) if you plan to have a chair at the desk (3) whether you plan to use that side of the island as a work station. If you're planning on seating on that side of the island plus have the desk w/seating, then you need a much wider aisle! I would venture to say as much as 5' (60"). If you make it a Message Center or no desk/desk chair on the kitchen side but still have island seating, then I would still like to see at least a 48" aisle with appropriate seating overhang on the island, and 54" if it's an aisle with traffic (i.e., not a "dead end" aisle) OR your overhang is less than 15"; 48" if there's no traffic. As to the "judges panel"...are you saying you would have the desk front be on the other side and have the back of the cabinet(s) face the kitchen? If so, then I assume you're talking about putting decorative door panels on the back of the desk cabinet(s)...and I think that's a good idea. If you're working on a layout, you might want to post here for comments...if you want comments, that is! (Not everyone does, so if you don't that's fine...just a suggestion.)...See MoreNeed help decorating my room!
Comments (11)Consider: Do you really want to sit at a desk with your back to the room facing the wall? If so, then you'll probably have to go custom. If not, then maybe some book shelves and art and then put your desk out away from that space, facing the room or at an angle so that the alcove is your space for storing the work items you use every day, sort of like an extension of your desk. Here is my alcove library, for example. I love it....See MoreKitchen Decorating Help Needed.....Opinions Needed Please
Comments (5)Look for a vintage set (table and chairs) in a wood tone similar to the top of your dining table. I think that would lighten up the kitchen and yet connect with the other rooms. I would get backless stools for perching, remove or lighten the shade on the door and find a more colorful rug for under the kitchen table or even paint the base of the table a bright turquoise or apple green. Can't quite tell what other colors you have as accents....See MoreRelated Professionals
