I’d do 3000k for the dining room. It’s pleasing and natural without being yellow or blue. It’s not stark. I’d check out 1000bulbs.com
I just ordered quite a few from there for specialty fixtures. You can vary the shape of the bulb as long as you stick with the right base (looks to be medium?)
They make vintage looking LEDs also but you said you don’t want filament style. With a fixture that is unshaded, I’d also want that on a dimmer too

1. How about this for the chandelier: LED Chandelier Bulb - 4.5 Watt - 40 Watt Equal. If it is too bright, add an LED-compatible dimmer such as the Lutron MACL-153MR-WH.

We probably won't use the dining room light a lot. Unfortunately, the original electricians were terrible. They did not put a dimmer on the dining room light or the living room cans. I think they did do dimmers on the other cans in the dining room and kitchen and it's an open space.

It really made no sense how they chose to do things and they certainly did not ask me anything. The second electrician said they did not do a great job and charged for a lot of things I really did not need. We are way over budget at this point and I really don't want to keep having to spend on electrical issues.

Not the best pic. Here is a can in the living room. They are angled. The bulbs in 2 of them keep blowing. Again, the electician said they may be getting too hot and try the LED before we pay him to figure out what else could be the issue. The originals were 350 incandescent and we replaced them with 450 which was too much light. He also recommended a flat light instead of the rounded ones because they would look better but I cannot find any like that.

If the 4" housing looks something like this after you remove the bulb and trim (leaving only the empty housing and its internal socket), you might try installing a retrofit trim such as this Halo RA4. The color temperature ("whiteness") of this trim is adjustable. I'd recommend a dimmer too.

I replaced all the lighting in my house just a couple of years ago. (Bought a fixer and it needed a lot of electrical work).

After a lot of research and testing of different brands, I determined that the CREE brand daylight (5000 k) light bulb was the best one for my home. It offered a high Color Rendering Index (over 90), had excellent ratings, their bulbs were very efficient (used less energy than some other brands), dimmed bulbs had little or no flicker, the price was fair and the color of the light worked for me.

The things you need to know when picking a light are

The base size - E-26 is a standard light bulb base aka a medium base, E-12 is a candelabra base. Recessed lighting can use a standard screw base, a pin base or a plug in base. Your base has to fit your fixture.

Efficiency - how much energy is being used by the lightbulb.

If your lights need to be dimmable you will want to research how much flicker they have - some LEDs are horrible when dimmed. Flicker is not listed on the package. You have to research and read reviews.

Lumens - Brightness - most of the boxes will state that a bulb is a 40w replacement or a 60w replacement . . . LEDs use much less electricity than the incandescent bulbs did. It took 40 watts of electricity to light a 40 watt incandescent light bulb. It created 450 Lumens of light. The new LED 40w replacement bulb creates 450 Lumens of light using much less electricity. The CREE brand 40 w replacement uses only 6 watts of energy to create the 450 Lumens of light.

CRI - Color Rendering Index - how well colors are seen - 90 is excellent, 80 good, anything with less than 80 cannot be Energy Star Rated or sold in California - not good

Kelvins (Temperature or color). 2700 looks like the classic incandescent bulb, kind of yellow, 5000 k is natural daylight at noon, very white, sometimes referred to as blue, but at 5000 it should still be a very pure white. Many fixtures with built in light bulbs are made with 3500 k light. I think this was a compromise and it seems that every designer has jumped on board and is now recommending 3500-4000 k. Light bulb manufacturers usually offer 2700k and 5000k and something between the two.

I like 5000 k, but I do a lot of work with color and like a lot of light and I have a lot of purple in my decor - yellow and purple make brown - I don't want my purples looking dirty and lower k values can make the purples look dirty. My sister kept the 2700 k temp in her home - decorated with a lot of greens and golds and orange reds - fall colors. She was used to the yellower incandescent light and liked the warmer color.

NOTE: Just because 2 brands both call their bulb a 3000k soft white bulb, they will not be exactly the same color. Nothing is completely standard in LED bulbs at this point. I picked one brand so that all the lights will have the same color and I if I have one blow I will be able to replace it without worry that it won't match the rest.

The old rule of thumb that I remember for dining room lighting is that you want between 200 and 400 watts. You have a light fixture with 10 lights. Don't go any higher than 40 watts per bulb. That will give you 400 watts total. If that is too bright I think you will need to have a dimmer installed.

There are LED bulbs to replace almost every kind of old bulb we repaled all our halogens with LEDs I like 4000K it mimics bright sunlight and has no blue cast that happens with 5000K I like 4000K everyhwere because I hate the yellow cast that happens with the warmer ones . Install proper bulbs with proper dimmers where you think you want less light sometimes.

Install a dimmer, but what ever bulb you like and then dim it.

Thank you so much. Jennifer-that was some great info and I will check out the CREE brand. I definitely think I need to stay over 3000 to keep everything from looking yellow. We noticed one issue with the brighter lights in the living room is you can see where the drywall was not sanded smooth around the lights. So if they are brighter you definitely notice it. We had to have the ceiling painted twice already so it is not something I want done again so I feel like we have no other choice but to use "dimmer" lighting in the living room because of this.

I also will try to find bulbs to keep the dining room at or below 400. That seems to be a reasonable amount of light. I will start shopping for bulbs now. It has been annoying because I cannot find things locally and if I order online and they don't work I have to ship everything back.

The house I bought had a max of 40 watts in any fixture. They foyer had 7 watt bulbs in the fixture (Never saw any that low before). The dim lighting hid a lot of flaws.

Dimmer switches are a very quick and easy swap out from standard, if you are willing to do it. No need to pay an electrician. But you do need to get the correct dimmer for your fixture.

no its not dimmer bulbs, its installing a dimmer light switch, not the same thing, sometimes you want light, sometimes you dont, a dimmer switch solves these common issues.
