Caramel sofa how to work it?

I found a beautiful caramel leather sifa for my study/den but I'm not sure how to work with it. Is it too much to use two caramel pieces, ie love seat and a sofa? There's also a white leather sofa that I love. I was considering the white sofa with caramel love seat but I'm not sure about these 2 together. I was thinking of a jute rug with a black striped design. I'm just not sure how to bring this all together.

Yes, to sofa; no to bench and no to rug. I am not a fan of using a sofa and loves seat together. It can be a very inflexible combo and finding a coffee table which works for both is difficult…one which all 5 people can use easily. Also, buying a rug first, before measuring the space and deciding on what furniture goes where is problematic too.

Can you share measurements of space?

I would not mix colors on sofa and loveseat in the same room. Sofa and chairs, loveseat and chair(s), yes. Sofa, loveseat, chairs are you big purchases, so get those home, then decide on rug. If you post photos then, you'll receive better suggestions for rug choices.

thanks for your response. This is the room. please excuse the mess!! Everything in the room will be gone. I hope you can get an idea of the set up. I'm not good with photoshop.

I was thinking the caramel setee next to the fireplace. the white sofa (or large caramel) would be against the wall with the window with the jute rug in front. Built in bookshelves and a desk against the other wall, probably in white. maybe I'd paint the wall for contrast? A full wall of window treatments to disguise the weird window and to be a backdrop to the sofa. I'm really not sure what to do and I've ignored this space because of this.

Any help is appreciated!!

Well if you are like me, which most people aren't... then I definitely would have to have a cool rug layered with a zebra rug and an awesome metal or glass coffee table and maybe some funky armchair in a bright color. I'll send some ideas...the handmade metal tables are mine and they were handmade by this French dude near me. Depends on what look you are going for.

Patricia, I actually really like that blue shade and honestly had ruled that out. I may need to put the space together better and take pics to give a better visual to you and others, but my spaces flow into another (kitchen, dining, living room) and the living room I would not consider big. The space is 13.5x12.5 but the 13.5 space starts where the couch nook is. So it isn’t as evenly shaped a space that I would like or have been accustomed to.

Thank you everyone for being so helpful! I will have photos up of the space when I go there on Saturday. I'm feeling very relieved you all think it'll work. Regarding the pillows, great idea about switching round the textures. I'll put up photos of the space once I go there tomorrow!
