"they are not huge nor are they that heavy" The glass is custom 1/2" thick glass 5 1/2 ft tall sitting on top of a 2ft high tub wall. Each pane is well over 100lbs, there are 3 panes across (pic attached). If a single pane is on the floor and you've got 2 guys prepped to lift it, i guess it's not that heavy. If you're a kid taking a shower and a 100+ pound pane whose top height is 7 1/2 ft from the floor comes down on you, that's a different story. Edit: i wanna say it's actually closer to 200 lbs per pane because i have glass in my other shower too, and it is much lighter than the glass in this shower.

It will look great. Page through any kitchen magazine and you should find a kitchen with white mouldings and stained cabinetry. If it were me redoing your kichen I would definately run the uppers all the way to the ceiling and have wood fronts for extra storage. Without adding extra space to your kitchen(assuming you are using the same space as is being taken up now) you have very little countertop space. Cabinets are very expensive and when you get going and add lights, plumbing, counters, tile backsplash you are in the thousands. It is a lot of money to spend to not increase the usable area of your kitchen. Good luck whatever you decide.

I have this problem too. I had 30"x30" closets, then after remodeling they became 52"x24" closets. Overall it's an improvement, but definitely the top shelves are less useful than before--can't get anything too deep up there. If I did it over again, I would have at least gotten a cost estimate for doing like a built-in wardrobe, but I don't think that's the kind of solution you want at this point either. I did buy a closet solution from Easy Closets and placed the rod pretty high, which leaves more useful storage on the bottom. Above the door I have shelves with some plastic storage containers--I'm still putting things away so it's not too packed yet.

Wow - thank-you imhofan. You have pointed out something I hadn't considered at all. I just called and cancelled my custom order (my husband will be happy you have saved us quite a bit of money!!!). The drapes near the fireplace would not be a good thing and having the stack so close might look a bit weird. I guess I just really liked Jillian Harris home and was taking inspiration from therehttps://www.jillianharris.com/how-custom-drapes-complete-your-space/. She has drapes on her large windows and I thought it looked great. When I called to cancel the drape company suggested 1 panel per side so its almost like a focal point. It would flank on outer edges. Not sure your thoughts on that? We don't need privacy in the back.
