ovens whirlpool or GE profile
Comments (2)My experience w/GE Profile appliances is that their cooking appliances are very good, reliable, and last a long time. DW & laundry, though, not so much. We had a GE Profile convection smoothtop range in our old kitchen that was 13 years old when we redid our kitchen in early 2008...it looked and performed as well on the last day we used it as the first day. I was so pleased with that range that I immediately thought of GE Profile again in our new kitchen...and nothing came along to change our minds... Well...Miele did try to seduce me to the dark side w/it's MasterChef & rotisserie (H4880BP)...I was going to pair it w/a GE Profile single Trivection oven...but then budget reared its ugly head and we went back to our original choice of the GE Profile Double ovens w/Trivection on top & convection on the bottom. [I do sometimes still think of the Miele with affection and breathe an occasional sigh of regret...] We've been using our ovens for a year now and I absolutely love them! I use one or both several times a week... I bake a lot b/c I have to eat gluten-free and b/c, well, I like to bake! [FYI...the GE Profile & GE Monogram Trivection double ovens are identical functionally & construction-wise...the only differences are the styling, a free roasting pan w/Monogram, and the cost...a no-brainer for us!] We also have a GE Profile cooktop and warming drawer. My DW is KA. My MW is a Sharp MW Drawer...also really like, btw! [Our old range is still going strong...we donated it to our church and the family that received it couldn't believe what great shape it was in and were so excited to get a convection oven!] HTH!...See MoreGE Profile vs. Whirlpool/KA
Comments (1)I have a 30" GE Profile wall oven and a 27" GEwall oven,a 30 "Profile gas cooktop, Profile dishwasher and a KitchenAid counterdepth refrigferator. No trouble at all with any of the GE products for the 5 years I have had them. The KA refrig had all the wiring to the door ice and water fail. The door had to be replaced. KA did replace the door and I had to pay the $160 for labor. It was 2 years old. I don't think KA is what it used to be and I think GE is better than it was in the past....See MoreGE Profile? Suggestions??
Comments (8)There's been a lot of consolidation in the industry lately. Whirlpool has owned KA for a while and recently purchased Maytag/Jenn Air. I also believe Bosch/Thermador/Gaggneau are the same company now. I have a KA fridge, DW, and compactor and I'm happy with all three but I'm not sure I'd buy a KA range/oven - there have been a bunch of mixed reviews about them lately. You can take a look at applianceadvisor.com to see who the different manufacturers are....See Morege profile???? or electrolux or kitchenaid wall oven
Comments (7)I have a GE profile cooktop and I was originally going to purchase the profile convection oven. But then I saw the Electrolux oven. I actually purchased the oven in October. It works like it's suppose to and I love the sliding shelves and bright oven light. Hubby commented tonight that this oven cooked better than the old Whirlpool. This from a man who doesn't cook and very rarely makes any comments. My Kitchenaid dishwasher, which at the time was rated very high by Consumer Reports, is just a piece of garbage. I purchased it, instead of a Bosch, because of this report. Over the years it has leaked water on my floor, locked up, and is getting progressively noisy. So I would rule out the Kitchenaid. I have been very happy with my Electrolux oven and GE cooktop. For what's it worth, the Best Buy guy told me (after the purchase) that the Electrolux was a better oven....See Moredarbuka
