size of round bathroom mirror?
Comments (8)Great idea to mock it up. Unfortunately, the vanity isn't in yet - just a blank wall so far but it would give me a good idea of function - even without the vanity. I'll see if I can find something to mock it up with. Living in temporary digs so nothing is ever just at hand. And I do have to let him know early tomorrow. I wonder if I get it a bit smaller, if a frame shop couldn't frame it for me so I could hang it rather than glue it? That would mean I could pick whatever I wanted for a frame rather than finding the "right" one at a store. I did google images of round mirrors over vanities and many do seem to just be glued to the wall - which i thought would be weird until I saw the pics....See MoreBathroom mirrors: Polished? Framed? Comments (7)@suezbell, thanks! We have no intention of doing two separate mirrors---we're fans of the Old School BIG/WIDE wall mirror, and trying to simplify at this point. But OH, I love the idea of a walnut box!! That could be just the thing to tie the vanity together, thanks! I hope I can find someone to do it without a ton of $$$ though, as we are way over budget--ack! If you have any photos to point me to, I'd love to see. Re lighting, we have a lot of recessed lights in there, so plenty of overhead lighting, I think? (I don't use makeup and rarely comb my hair, so I really only use a mirror and lighting to brush/floss my teeth!) @shirlpp, yeah, that mirror is just a utility piece until we get the real one. Another thing that bugs me is the towel bar--though it matches the T.P. holder and the sconce hardware, it's too industrial looking IMO, so I might just go with simple white bars for the hand towels. Anyway, at your request, here are some pics without the classy IKEA mirror, lol: Lower photo taken through the shower glass: p.s. Apologies to those who are tired of all my posts (some on the same theme). I search but can't seem to find them easily, probably because I use "creative" subject headers then forget what I wrote!...See MoreFrameless glass shower doors installation time
Comments (9)Perhaps your contractor estimated it like that because they are going to take 2 trips. When our glass installers were here they didn’t seemed rushed, just efficient. It’s possible they want to do one at a time so he told you they’d go into that second day. Were you home on the day the glass person came to measure? I remember the glass person talking to me about a few details (width of mirror bevel, type of shower door handle, etc); did you have the opportunity to meet them and get a sense if they seemed comfortable and competent? At the end of the day, if your GC hired them, he/she is responsible, so hopefully it all goes well. Your shower is very pretty!...See MoreIs a 36" Round Mirror over Bathroom Vanity Too Big?
Comments (18)Thank you everybody for your help. I’ve made the decision to move the wiring and go shopping for new lights! Beverly, as far as the finish, for some reason on my drawing the finish looks dark but it is actually chrome. The program that I’m using has a limited selection of fixtures so that’s not necessarily the style I’m going for. I’m just trying to get the scale and proportions correct. I am committed to the chrome because I already have a chrome shower faucet. The only other lighting in the room is a flush mount ceiling fixture which has not yet been purchased. I am a little worried that I’m reducing the amount of light bulbs by one and lowering them down on the wall some. Because of the shape of the room, the light from the ceiling light will not reach the toilet and I’m counting on the sconces to light that area. Hopefully I’ll have enough light and hopefully I can find a ceiling light and sconces to either match or coordinate with one another....See MoreJAN MOYER
