Bosch 30 Inch Induction Cooktop
Comments (7)We installed the GE 30" induction cooktop over a Kitchen Aid wall oven. The instructions indicate it should be installed over a GE oven only---but the Kitchen Aid actually allows for more air movement based upon how it's configured. Anyway, no problems so far (granted it's only been a week...) and I absolutely LOVE the induction, the sleek look (we, too, have no frame, we like the sleekness of the cooktop right on the granite) and the responsiveness (I think the responsiveness is better than my gas stove)! Good luck in your decision! Sue...See More36' Induction Cooktop - which would you buy? What about frameless
Comments (30)I've been cooking on my Diva 36 inch for 5 months and really like it. I've had great results. It's very powerful and I have to remember to keep the heat on lower settings in order not to burn my food. It delivers more heat than I had expected. I only put it on full power if I need to quickly bring something to a boil. Then, I turn it down to actually cook what I intend to cook. It brings water to a boil quickly. I'm so happy I don't have to clean grill grates...did that for years and hated it. I'm very pleased with the Diva so far. I bought a large set of Al clad pans at Macy's for $420. I think the best set of pans that I found were at William Sonoma. They were the brushed nickel pans made for induction. However, they were around $800 for the set. I also picked up a few no name brands pots from TJ Max and Home Goods. They seems to work just as well as the all clad for boiling pasta etc. I definitely think it's worth the investment to buy a really good non-stick frying pan. Macy's also has a set of pans made specifically for induction that were priced less than $300....See MoreWolf 36 inch frameless induction cooktop (CT36IU)
Comments (1)The Wolf CT36I/S is online. I presume the /U stands for no frame as opposed to the /S which is stainless framed. I haven't seen or heard of the "U" model, nor is it on the Wolf site. It is a very nice looking 5 burner unit, with one non-boosted 4,000 BTU burner. But it is very pricey--about $3,795 MSRP. I would think you must have a strong desire for matching Wolf appliances to have this one, as there are many comparable models at over $1,000 less--some at almost $2,000 less. Comments (49)I am just a lay person and know nothing about this stuff other than what I had to figure out for my journey. The Miele manual says on p. 60 "Flush installation is only possible in natural-stone (granite, marble), solidwood, and tiled countertops. Certain cooktops are suitable for building into glass countertops – these are labeled accordingly. When using a countertop made from any other material, please check first with the countertop manufacturer that it is suitable for installing a flush cooktop." So you might want to call Infinity to discuss if a flush mount is possible. Your fabricator may just be wanting to be ultra cautious, so you could get some other opinions. No sure what you mean by "drop in". The manual uses 3 different terms: "flush", "framed" (p. 58), and "proud". It's very confusing. But after some research, it appears the 6365/6375 must only be installed flush (as confirmed on p. 4/8 here: http://documents.designerappliances.com/Specification-Sheet-KM6365.pdf). This makes sense, because I was trying to picture a 6365/6375 mounted as "proud" and it certainly would not look nice and definitely prone to damage. In other words, if you cannot do flush, then you must get a 6360/6370/6377 to mount either framed or proud (I suppose this just means same installation as a typical framed unit, just minus the actual frame). Hope that helps. Good luck....See Morecpartist
