A freezer is a bit awkward because you can't put anything on top of it, so I guess you have to let that be itself. (do you really need that much extra freezer space, living in an apartment? seems a sacrifice...)

Can you use magnets and utilize the front of the freezer like a bulletin board?

Have you tried flipping the desk with the freezer? Or would the desk chair be in the way of getting into the freezer?

I have not tried flipping them, and I do not think the chair would be in the way. I wonder what that would look like, I shall try it! - in terms of the freezer, typically yes, cooking and and baking are my favourite things to do.

Ok. See how that works. The reason I suggested it that I thought it puts the desk more in it's own corner and flipping the freezer kind of makes it feel like it is more in the dining area and you could use the top of it for serving food if you needed more room.

Sorry hon, the chest freezer has to go. Love to cook? I get it. But its not going to look good, no matter what. : ) Have a cloth made for it. tailored, and move it to your bedroom. ? Move your office somewhere else? Show the entire "rental"

Try a folding screen to block the freezer and desk. Or a curtain hung from a rod at the ceiling.

Do not flip the desk and the freezer. What is the point of a freezer in front of a window while you stare at a blank wall all day instead of the outdoors? Keep the view; that's what windows are for. Put function first.

It’s hard to make a dining room also work as an office, but with creativity it can be done.

I didn't know what to do with an extra freezer ...so I built a table to put the freezer / little refrigerator under ..and covered it up Looking at your room I would put the freezer under a table in front of your window ..and place the desk in an angle ...I wish you could show a floor plan of your space ...it would be easier to comment ...

IMO lose the freezer bake less at one time super markets are at every corner buy food as you need it and for go the freezer except for the one in your fridge.

Thank you everyone for your feedback, I will definitely look into alternate options for the freezer location. (We are thinking maybe the storage locker down the hall, or the bedroom) We are planning to be here while saving for a house, probably 3-4 years. I do not have an available floor plan - I created a quick one below to show the general outlines.

I have a few suggestions. One would be to get a shower type tension rod and using twin size sheets or a fast velcro self stick on your choice of material quadrant off the area. That eliminates the mish mash in the viewing area.

The final suggestion would be to relocate the desk in another room. This is a great space saving option.

mounting to concrete walls is a challenge but not impossible by any means. Patching it when you leave is pretty easy too.

Really. Find another spot, I doubt unless you rid it of food, the the locker down the hall is an option. I wouldn't want chest freezer anywhere but in a BASEMENT. : )

If you live in a mild climate, you could put the freezer on the balcony.

Before you move the freezer to a balcony, check with landlord and get the approval to do this IN WRITING. I'd worry about the integrity of the balcony. This is a rental space. Usually, a balcony can hold some chairs and a few ppl. If you place a heavy freezer out there, I'd worry about a collapse. If that were to happen, you'd lose your damage deposit and be liable for other damages, unless the landlord said okay beforehand.

How often do you reach into the freezer? Disguise it with a tablecloth as suggested above. Mounting bookcases to a wall will require you making large holes in the wall, which will need to be patched & painted when you move.

Also,. what is the floor underneath the freezer? It will get hot from the motor - You don't want a scorched floor mark or worse yet a carpet burn/ fire

And into our freezer can't be put outside something molding on it it's not compatible for outdoor use and angle things like a desk angled takes up more space
