Redoing dining room hutch and need help with all white dishes
Comments (14)I purchased most of my ironstone through ebay or local antique shops, but Home Goods is also a good source. If you won't be using them for serving, I've seen Goodwill finds spray painted with a coat of white paint too. I like Tuesday's suggestion of mixing white and green. I did this in my dining room hutch, mixing my antique white ironstone teacups and saucers with a few of my green milk glass pieces. Some of my ironstone: Foyer hutch: I sampled a larger display of ironstone here before paring it down: Green milk glass with ironstone in dining room hutch (I took the larger pitchers off the top of the hutch and used them in the foyer hutch instead): Not a great picture but inexpensive/sentimental dish set in the eat-in kitchen hutch (the green milk glass did not work well with the red hutch so I moved those pieces to the dining room): Not mine but a pretty inspiration photo:...See Moreneed help with rug color, style and arm chairs for dining room
Comments (9)I like to create an elegant yet comfortable dining room settings. I have a curier with displays, that will stay. The six chairs will be side chairs and I need two arm or no-arm chairs at each end. My idea of the rug is 9'x12' since the room is 12'x15'. I am not sure if the rug color is to match the light gray wall or to match the chairs. The table is maghogny color....See MoreNeed help with my Living/Dining room
Comments (32)I came across this chair today, it's lower, but I'm not sure about the arms. Mayfair chair at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IGU63OS/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1CVL3SHB0OK89&coliid=IISW83RSW8Q1E&psc=1 Do you have a different room where the curio could go? Maybe it doesn't feel this way in real life, but in the photos it looks like a giant towering over the other pieces in the room. It's a beautiful piece of furniture, though! I'm wondering if a chest of drawers or low cupboard with a mirror or artwork hanging over it might work better. Just a thought....See MoreHelp me Chandelier size /style for my Dining room ?
Comments (23)Beth thank you thank you. yes I think that first one with the blue is stunning but it is over budget. I tried searching it out shopping wise and it's just gorgeous but I think I am not willing to spring for the $. It's stunning and maybe I will think on this more. 2- The Kira Adelade could work and yes the price is terrific but I am not sure if I like it better than Presidio. I was entertaining it with the dark shade as I thought it was navy but it's black. (the last photo ) so again it's really nice but not calling my name. (yet?) 3 The Manhattan is very attractive and also great price and could work. Fwiw the brass/gold finish has a cream shade which I think is ok as well. The brass/gold is out of stock but I probably could search it out somewhere. 4- The Zoey is also really nice and well priced.. and although it's a drum, it's a bit different from what I have been looking at...I think that the wire from which it hangs is a plain wire and I prefer either chain or tube. 5- The last one is the Kira with the dark shade. LizzieB thank you for your comment. I follow your threads and love your taste (as you see, another lifelong blue fan here). I do love that first one and may try shopping around. At this point, I think I need to think some more on this. I usually show DH my final contenders and often let him pick or at least hear if there are any he dislikes. I am holding off at the moment because I know on the one hand he will say anything would be way better than what's there ( and he'd be right!! lol) and also I suspect that being the unobservant male, he would automatically go with a traditional candle chandelier. I was thinking white shade but would cream offwhite be better or really no difference? So, still thinking The preecy pricey navy one. (the signature one from RLRelocation) Also the clover one but thinking maybe too glam. Presidio. Ovanda (chandelier) I do like the one Jinx shared but I think I don't adore it. It seems to be they are all great options so I thank you-- my take is that none would be a bad choice. Thanks for all the support and suggestions Did I mention that I struggle with decisions?...See MoreP O
