Love the house! I couldn't quite tell what colors are in adjoining rooms, but on my monitor, your first 2 mentions above looked 'fleshy'. I consulted a designer years ago who suggested a color for my bedroom, which turned out 'fleshy' and I had to stop after one wall as it just looked awful. Is there an eat in kitchen or would the dining space be the all-the-time eating space? I like Judy's layout if there is another more casual eating area (breakfast/lunch). traipsing across living space (from kitchen) for every meal doesn't seem functional. That said, walking into your fireplace area as a LR isn't ideal either. I think it could have 2 chairs and be cozy but the TV and living space would have to be across the way. It's a beautiful looking home.

Freedomplace1-love how you can put the rug in the room! I didn't like the last one, I thought I'd like a more blue rug, but after seeing it in the room, I don't think I like a mainly blue. I'm going to look for a rug w/ more natural neutral colors, some blue, something that is rich in color but maybe w/ the lighter color....if any of that makes sense :) The 1st, 2nd & 3rd ones are my faves along w/ the last one Jinx posted.

If large, rug size should be big enough for front feet of all seating to be resting on it, which doesn’t look possible with layout. Other option is to place a smaller rug in front of couch and to make it feel less awkward, add a coffee table. Suggest taping out different sizes to experiment. Rug colors in other rooms don’t have to be the same but your room‘s shades need to be pulled together, so I’d use a rug similar to one in picture and then add complimentary cushions.
