Used window frames 2 B used 4 raised bed for vegetables - safe?
Comments (2)Hi there. You asked for an honest opinion, so here I go =:) If you are wanting raised vegetable beds, the easiest thing for you to do is to build them new. IMHO by the time you remove the glass from those frames, you've spent probably more time and energy than you would to build new frames. How would you dispose of the glass? Also, it seems like a waste of good windows that you could use for a cold frame. As far as the paint goes, if you use the windows for a cold frame, the paint won't come any where near your plants =:)...See MoreHow should I deal with strip between 2 beds?
Comments (12)I have the same thing. I edged the garden with bottles on either side. All green. Then I threw down a little chicken grit (as we have acid soil), dug in chunks of recycled concrete for pavers and installed creeping thyme. Up against the bottles I added in a few tiny bulbs like crocus, grape hyacinth, zephranthes, species tulips, and a few alpine strawberries (which struggle as soon as it gets hot and too dry). The bulbs love this drier, baking area. It's just wide enough for me to get in there, I can take large buckets and roll a small wheelbarrow down it in in the winter when plants are not so much in bloom and taking up space. Best of all, whole thing was free. girlgroupgirl...See MoreSomeone please help me decide between these 2 beds....
Comments (17)If your wall is going to be like the one in the picture, I like the white - as long as you are the kind of person that can keep a white color, white :-) The camel is ok but not nice with the yellow wall. if you are married to the yellow wall, what about chosing a darker color? like the walnut? is a bit more dramatic and reminds me of wood color with the softeness of fabric. I went to a hotel in vegas (Wynn) and the beds were stunning, they were similar to your design, just bigger....See MoreThe 2 1/2x to 3x window width rule for treatments
Comments (67)Those original lamps are now split between the kitchen lounge and the living room. I think these old lamps are passé now! I had a similar-sized chest on that side and since I had to pull it out to get the ladder in place, I tried this small table. I'd like to find a matching pair of lamps for my master since I like those others in so many places! What about these since they're the same color as my overhead fixture and rods. Modern drum shade? I'm concerned that they're too tall at 31" with shade. These are metallic in color on the base and 27" high: More bookmarked lamps to come...my web has slowed down...See Morestephieatkinson
