Range is 29&7/8" W, is 30" opening in cabinets enough?

So when planning the kitchen we planned for a 30" opening for the 30" freestanding gas range which seem to actually measure 29 7/8" wide. DH thinks maybe we need more room than 30" in order to get it in and out. Do we? I'd rather not have too much space on either side of it but would like to be able to pull it out now and then to clean under it. When I was shopping around no designer at any cabinet place accounted for more than 30" so I assumed that was the norm. We're installing cabinets now and can adjust to make a bit more room if its really needed.
