New Jeopardy rules affects Canadian Contestants
Comments (9)Now, here's what I do know... it's Canadian law being noted, and those contestants already on file with them will still get to participate. ____________________ "Citing two legal experts, the Star says the law in question could be Canada's anti-spam legislation, which carries potential penalties of up to $10 million for abuse. The newspaper reports that the law, enacted in July of 2014, "forbids companies from emailing citizens without their express or implied permission. In the U.S., it's enough to allow customers to opt-out." One other notable piece of online privacy legislation that recently took effect in Canada is the Digital Privacy Act. Enacted last summer, itsets rules for how personal information can be collected, used and disclosed. It also regulates how companies handle cybersecurity breaches and sets steep fines for companies that don't handle them properly."...See MoreWatching Jeopardy?
Comments (30)Yeah, I never really saw the appeal of Austin. He was a great player too, but most of the time I didn't find his antics that funny. Quirky for sure. Buzzy was ok. I was trying to remember the name of the champion who was always so serious looking and hardly ever smiled. Finally someone must have mentioned it because at the beginning of the program he'd put on this really fake smile for the camera. He was in the recent million dollar championship game....See MoreWho hasn't watched Jeopardy tonight?
Comments (44)"Plus the card James's daughter made for him seemed to really touch him. I wonder if James had planned to leave? Was the card a "thank you, and goodbye" gesture?" No, James didn't plan to leave, and the card wasn't a "thank you, and goodbye" gesture. They tape 5 episodes in a day, two days a week. Some reports say they tape two days every other week, other reports say they tape two days each week for a set number of weeks before taking a hiatus. Reports consistently say there are a total of 46 taping days each year (for the past 30 years). James was on for 32 games, which would be, at most, 8 taping days (that would work out to be his first show was the 5th show taped on day 2 of that week's taping; then 30 shows over two days the next 3 taping weeks; then the 1st show taped on the first day of taping his final week of taping. I've seen things that say his first taping day was February 5th, and last night's show was taped on March 12th. Alex announced his cancer diagnosis on March 6th, so James gave him the card that his daughter had made less than one week later - on the first day of taping following the announcement....See MoreNew Jeopardy host
Comments (27)Current host is David Faber. I guess he reports on finance. He's good. Jeopardy! never said these were tryouts, just guest hosts. But it has been fun to taste them as possible contenders. I'd never expect someone to be like Alex. After all, he was not the same a Art Fleming. Mind you, he didn't exactly replace Fleming. So r situation is different. Interesting that the current champion has played under 3 different hosts now, and will likely play under a 4th! It will be interesting later to see what he has to say about that. Many champions say they prepared by learning Alex's rhythm, but Matt would have to figure it out in 10 minutes, to chime in properly the rest of the game....See Morededtired
