Updating the existing media wall

Hey everyone! We just closed on a home built in 1995. It has excellent potential and is mostly to our liking. The idea going in was to tear out the millwork shown, so we can accommodate our 82” flat panel TV where the old tube television use to be. However, thinking about it a bit more, we’d like to keep the display cabinet to the left and use the wood from everything to the right of it to build an attached credenza that allow for TV components to be stored below the new TV. I know it will seems a bit heavy looking on the left side, but what’s not in the photo right is the fireplace to the right. I think this will balance out fine. Any thoughts on the design and/or ideas you might have would be appreciated!

Thank you,
Mark
