Is it my imagination or???

I've been eating sandwiches made by Subway for years. My late husband said he worked at a Subway when he was in high school (50 plus years ago) and he knew the "recipe' for their tuna salad. Anyway, I kinda think I remember years ago, they had a 'baby' or 'child' size sandwich made on a hot dog roll, relatives have disagreed with me, telling me I'm crazy, there was never any such thing.
Does anyone else recall these mini-sandwiches?

I used to eat the little sandwiches when I was a kid in the 90's. They were 4 inch round buns but definitely not a hot dog bun.

There did used to be a small sandwich. I would get them when I was a broke college student and couldn't afford the regular-sized ones.

There is such a thing as "Recession" hair. That's where people can't spend the money to have their hair done as often as they used to. The save money by letting their hair grow long and have a simple straight cut. I've noticed that a lot of the "blondes" have dark roots showing and it is ok with me. I'm glad that side path conversation was productive. I think it is OK to have them occasionally, after all, this is not the good ole girls country club where one is shown the door for behavior not comporting. (Flags down the country club garcon and orders another squirreltini, where a decorative brushlike appendage is stuck in the olive with a toothpick.)

kimmsr: -I could go out every hour as many JBs as we have and that's all I would do. I simply do not have the time. Just got my better half out of the hospital from pneumonia and with all the extra medicines and treatments, I simply do not have the time to do this. I just hate to see these horrible things devastate my roses. I guess I will just resort to covering them with net. Even the leaves are being decimated (sp) and they just look so sick.I don't even have time to spray anything--taking the time to mix and all. Thank you so much. Sorry about your asthma. Can surely understand all about that. My grandson has it. I will just have to sweat it out until they are through their sexual orgies and go away--to come out doubly next year. - Barb

I confess I have mixed feelings when I respond so positively to queries about soapstone. On one hand, I'm so pleased I followed my heart and instincts, did some research, and put it in my home that I'm eager to share encouraging info with people who are drawn to it. On the other hand, it's nice to have something that is different from what is in everyone else's house. Already, someone who went to look at our sunroom windows with our contractor came away dazzled and decided on a kitchen redo to include SS. Yeah!.....kinda.... I do like sharing my experience and delight with people on this forum, though. Seems the people who come here are really interested in learning about what will work in their kitchens and are investing their time in creating a special space. It's not so much a case of "I want what she has because she has it." I think SS will continue to grow more in popularity, but I don't think it will ever have the mass appeal that granite has had. I don't think it has the "Va Va Voom" that draws a lot of people to granite or the cachet that marble has. I'm happy that I got my slabs before it peaks,though, while there were still some to be had!

No but they have little sandwiches now. At least the advertisements I've been getting have them. Like sliders I guess. I keep meaning to go in and try one.

When i worked there (20 years ago almost) it was a 4 in round bun. We used them in the kids meals and sold them on their own as well.

ETA: Kath SO brought some of those new sliders home the other day and they were ridiculous. The bread was rock hard and the fillings were minuscule. Skip em.

I remember them as being round buns. But for some time now the kid's meal comes on a smaller cut of their regular bread.

Ours were also round not oblong buns. Maybe different parts of the country has those?

I have never noticed a kid's menu but then we don't travel with kids often. DH and I eat at Subway when we travel by car as their cold cuts are all turkey based. We have a favorite sandwich and I have them cut one-third off of the end for my portion. DH finds a 12" too large and I only want a small sandwich. I have encountered several employees who don't understand how to cut off one-third. I have actually been told that it would have to be cut in three pieces to do that.

Thanks for the info. I'm glad I didn't imagine small sandwiches there, just not on hot dog buns. i did try to post this on Gardenweb Kitchen Table forum, sorry it came out in "Annuals"

It is on the Kitchen Table. But also on Annuals.... slip of the typing fingers perhaps.
