I have a basically all white bathroom: white Hydro Systems tub, white ("cotton") Toto toilet, white Daltile Navelli Carrera Star tile, white Ralph Lauren ("grand") paint, white Restoration Hardware Hutton vanity with white/gray carrera marble. The whites are all similar, but differ slightly. The fixtures are slightly whiter than the tile, which is slightly whiter than the wall color, etc. Personally, I started with the white tile and worked from there. I went with white fixtures without comparing the colors, but then checked the color of the vanity, the marble, the wall color, etc. I think layering whites or whites and creams can look beautiful (even sophisticated). Can you get a sample of the cream vanity and take it to a plumbing show room to get an idea of how the colors will differ? Can you add other touches of cream to the room with paint, tile (or accent tile), or linens? From your description, it sounds like you have a good mixture of crisp white (fixtures maybe? wainscoting) and warmer tones (tan or beige tiles, wall color). I suspect that because you have a mixture and not just a single element of warm or cool tones, it will look great. You could also search online or use sites like Houzz.com to try to find similar color combinations to see if you like them.

Thank you both, The flower will be open but I feel those colors are very intense... I am more into neutrals @Beth H. yes the trim is ugh... and that white does not help. The main blcoker for any major work is doing anything messy while we are stuck working from home with baby & toddler. So painting is a quick fix. When I chatted about something like that with the local well-regarded handyman he was pretty open that noone can guarantee they won't damage bath surround tile if removing half-wall. Maybe if we just remove tile around the vanity / next to the door it will work. Def would require fixing the wall. I'll need to get some quotes as def not DYI (painting / installing vanity we can do ourselves)

I was talking about picture #4 in my comment, above. It has the left hex and right (lighter hex) on the floor in the top row before the large format wall tile that I like that spans both the top row and bottom row of floor tiles. Looking again, I might prefer the darker, left side top row hex (beige hex) over the right side hex. It ties the shower floor in better with the existing floor tiles. For the blue cabs, it would help to see the colors next to the counter top photo. I am leaning toward Pool House. It depends on the wall color. I would not go with gray walls.

@calidesign Wow, I really like that dark slate. I agree about not trying to match, but it's difficult to find a dark tile that isn't either a very warm brown or too cool/grey. Any thoughts on the size & shape of the tile? Was thinking of something like an 8"x12" in an offset pattern to get away from all the squares, or is that too busy? Unfortunately bought the vanity before they decided the floor tile had to be removed. Bath opens to a hallway where we have to replace the 100 yr old oak flooring...probably with a neutral brown shade (similar to vanity color) since the cabinets in the kitchen/living area (one big room) will be charcoal grey shaker. Thx for your advice!
