Frozen berries recalled from Aldi, Raley's stores over hepatitis A concerns
Mike Snyder, USA Today
California food producer Wawona Frozen Foods is voluntarily recalling packages of frozen berries sold at Aldi and Raley's grocery stores over concerns they could be contaminated with hepatitis A.
The Clovis, California-based Wawona Frozen Foods is recalling frozen raspberries packaged under the Aldi and Raley's private labels, and Aldi-branded frozen berry mixes with raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and blueberries, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The voluntary recall follows a positive test result as part of a government sampling program, the FDA says. To date, there have been no illnesses associated with the products. Consumers should not eat the berries, health officials say, and can return them to the store where they were purchased.
