Please help me pick a sofa!!! Need to decide ASAP!
Comments (11)I like the one with the tight back and the lumbar pillows (was it the Marlene?)because I HATE our family room sofa with loose cushions. I much prefer our tight back couch and love seat. They are much more comfortable than the loose cushions. I think you really need to sit on the sofa before you decide. I would never buy one without doing that....See Morenew sofa - can't decide on leather and need to TONIGHT. HELP!
Comments (11)Don't rush your choice. SW used to say this all the time..“marry in haste, repent at leisure” I am not sure how much you are saving but even $500 might feel like a great deal but if you don't love it you could be disappointed. There was a just a recent post of someone who purchased a sofa. [I hate my new couch[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/i-hate-my-new-couch-dsvw-vd~5534919) Maybe the furniture place you are going to has a way to mockup a design for you with the large sofa in your space. You can visualize how it could look and it might be easier to make your choice. Hoping you get what you love....See MoreHelp deciding what color sofa to get.
Comments (7)I agree Reena, not to mention the fact that leather is animal skin put through a process of toxic chemicals that seeps in to your home and those who use it. Most people have no idea where or from what animal they are sitting on, cow, sheep, dog, pig, horse, donkey? It is a cruel industry, like the fur industry and I wish people would educate themselves and not support it. There are some great vegan leather sources, such as : https://www.amazon.com/Modern-Leather-Sectional-L-Shape-Chaise/dp/B075MSW7FH?psc=1&SubscriptionId=AKIAIOCEBIGP6NUBL47A&tag=vegandesign-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B075MSW7FH and https://people.com/shop/nyekoncept-nyekoncept-lynden-vegan-leather-sofa-pec4a31e9a73ddc1d36588927b31fad51.html and many more....See MoreNeed Help Deciding on Sofa Color
Comments (4)In general a dark sofa in a room without context is not going to look great. You have to commit to a color and pull everything together to make it work. People think erroneously that if they choose a lighter, more neutral color they it will be easier, more forgiving to decorate around. I don't think so. Lighter, more neutral colors don't stand out as muhc, but they need just as much support from textiles, accessories and art to shine. Thoughtful color combinations are worth the effort. Google images of dark green sofas and see what people do to make it work. If it were me I would put down a kilim/flat weave rug in a pale background color with some green, any shade, in it and some red. Then I would look for richly patterned throw pillows in a light background with either green or red accents. I would keep an eye out for very colorful art. I like metal and glass coffee tables with a few nice books, and maybe a potted cyclamen. That's just me thinking out loud. Look at what talented designer do to give you an idea of how to start. I think a dark green sofa is woth the effort. Who needs more sme old, same old, half baked decorating ;-)...See Moreshebella1
