Comments (5)Depends what you want the light for. Are the can lights for practicality? ie, so that you can tell if that sock is navy blue or black? We are planning on putting lights in front of where the drawers are because as we age, we find it harder to tell those things apart- DH has gone to work more than once with mismatched socks! If your decorative fixture is more for looks, I'd center it in the open area left after closets are installed- lights for seeing should shine on the clothes....See MoreSizing for Over Island light fixtures
Comments (16)Boxerpal, I'm going to do this 7-light globe ombré chandelier from West elm in my dining room and I like these "Sputnik" styles for my kitchen nook. I haven't found anything for the island that I like that Coordinates with these but also stands alone (isn't necessarily a globe style). Here are pics of my kitchen materials... opens to a large family room with cedar beams, stone fireplace. 2-story Entry way is white judges panel to ceiling. I like clean lines but because we've lived overseas a long time, I have a lot of antique and electric pieces that add a lot of character. Comments (11)You have good lighting now so I would be picky on this. that being said I would just remove that dome light in favor of another can. and yes they are everywhere. seems something was done out of order or after something else was changed.
