Comments (51)I had one before and didn't appreciate it. i let it winterkill, and then this time when i thought about getting one, I couldn't find any. i had to go across the state for some reason and ended up finding one there. Now this one is treasured lol. I think the leaves on my plants will look better this next season. They were brown and partially killed from shipping stress-- it was over 100 when they were all shipped and they cooked in boxes. In the doorway I do have my giant philodendron-- P. bipinnatifidum. It's about 6ft across and 5ft tall. It does well there in the living room, and that to me is a decent indication of my light. It only gets light from outside of any decent measure, and it's grown in size since it has been there.I thought about putting it out on the balcony, but then I got too many other interesting things to really go along with that idea :P Plus moving it sucks. I am not happy with my sempervivums. They are doing fine and even multiplying, but I think I may move them elsewhere and tuck them into planters. This would give me a whole new empty pot to be filled with something different. I may put my tuberous begonias in there instead of putting them in my hanging baskets. Or maybe I'll put an alpine strawberry in there. That sounds even better!...See MoreAnyone ever see this set up?
Comments (9)Don't want to wire all three to match. It would require pulling new wiring two two zones and would require finding thermostats that would do it. An easier solution would be to remove the burner control wire and cap it off. It would do essentially the same thing, I think. The main zone and the front zone were added at the same time when the house was converted to forced hot water in the 1950s. The back zone, for the kitchen only, was added in 2003 when Mom and Dad redid the kitchen. I don't know exactly why my Grandfather (Dad and Grandpa installed the boiler in 1954ish and as far as I know did the wiring) wired the front zone differently from the main zone, but I suspect it might have something do do with the fact that the front zone controls rooms that he and Grandma really never used unless there was company. What I'm finding to be odd is that no one I've talked to in the HVAC community has ever seen an EL terminal on an R845A controller. I'm going to try calling Honeywell and see what they have to say....See MoreHere's some pictures I love. Let's see some of yours.
Comments (19)Aunt Jen my long lost retro soul sister :) That big chill fridge in your delicious picture is the second half of the first kitchen picture I posted with the lime laminate counters and vintage stove. I love that whole kitchen, it makes me smile :) Powermuffin .. yay, another cool chair aficionado! :) I'm going through a cute chair phase in life it seems, every vintage chair I find IRL .. I day dream new cute fabric on it. :D Still looking for the perfect pair of chairs to bring home to send to the reupholsters....See MorePlease, let’s see your Hoya indoor set up and growing area
Comments (11)Hoyas, hoyas everywhere! These hang in the window where I work. This is a West-facing window. Two different pubicalyx, one wayetii and a good old carnosa. There is also a Chelsea on the little shelf behind my monitor. These are on a shelf in another West-facing window. A shepherdii (hanging), australis, and kerii. There are more lower but this picture doesn't show them. Hanging in my west-facing sliding door area on a bird cage stand are krinkle 8, multiflora, bella (not doing so great) and krimson princess. A few of the grow-light hoyas: another chelsea, wayetii and a nummarloides in the background. These are just some of mine....See Morebklyn citrus (zone 7B)
