Pocketbook, Purse or Handbag?
Comments (93)I've always called it a purse, but Grandma, born in Ohio, called it a pocketbook. Like cilantro's family, she also had a "coin purse" that she kept change in, it looked like a small bag with a metal clasp. She also had a "compact" for face powder. Mother had a purse and a wallet. The wallet had a small compartment for coins, slots for driver's license and credit card and a place for paper money as well as one for her check book. She had a matching "cigarette case" which held a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. She did eventually quit smoking, and now a cell phone case has taken the place of the cigarettes. Now I have a purse and a wallet, much like Mother's, but mine has more spaces for the endless supply of today's cards, from insurance cards to Costco to the local gas station, AAA, AARP, the library. You name it, they got a card! cacaobird, I refuse to go out in public in my pajamas, although I live near a college town and it seems like 90% of the students go to morning classes in their pajamas. Since I live out in the country, though, I can walk out with a cup of coffee and curse the beavers in the pond without anyone else seeing me. I've never worn a house dress that I remember, and I'm 61. Annie...See MoreHouse Party????
Comments (9)I carry a very small clutch type purse...two checkbooks, my license, a few grocery cards, lipstick, a flashlight, pen, earplugs, some meds...not really anything too strange...except maybe this... Whenever we've lost our last three collies we had them cremated...a tiny bit of all three of them are in a little ziploc bag...and their always with me... I probably wouldn't do very good on "Lets Make A Deal"...unless they asked for doggie remains... now my stewbag...that's a whole nuther story......See MoreInvitation to a party - Halloween
Comments (23)Right here I am, black corset and pointy shoes on. I'd like to introduce you to a dear friend of mine; Lestat de Lioncourt, IÂd be a little careful with what you think while you are around him, his little Âdark gift can be a somewhat annoying on occasion. I myself will be entering as Alice Cullen, who can not only see the future and has a thirst for blood, but who is also an eternal teenager, I know I see you quiver in your boots and other such foot ware. IÂm so very sorry that I was not able to make an appearance earlier in the festivities but I was simply having some fun with my dear sister, donÂt worry she is still in one piece (of sorts). The festivities all seem to be in place and I do hope you donÂt lose (any part of) yourselves to early on in this fine dark evening....See MoreAnother "Purse" topic: Purse organizers
Comments (24)I like my current purse. It's not very big but is big enough for me. Has an outside zippered pocket that I put house keys, earphones, and the key ring that has all my store mini rewards cards on. Another outside pocket that has a snap, doesn't get used. There are little side slits that I keep my cell phone in and use the other side to carry cds (books from library) that I listen to in the car. They fit in there perfectly and keep the cd from getting scratched up when I'm carrying a bunch of other stuff to my car. Inner portion has a large area for my wallet, car keys and lotion pod. There is also a zippered area inside that has big rewards cards, on the other inner portion there are 3 pockets that I keep lip gloss, pens, eye drops and chap stick in. I now wish I had bought 2 of these purses so when this one wears out I would not have to go in search of another 'perfect' purse....See MoreBumblebeez SC Zone 7
