Please help to complete my space, add something to circular rug?
Comments (6)It’s difficult for me to see how much space is behind your two chairs, but I would push them back a little further. If you want to keep the round rug there, I agree, it looks like it needs something. A round table? My second idea is to switch the rugs, the round one and the one in your seating area and leave that space open. You have your piano, a doorway and a credenza, so you can just use it as walking space. I think an ottoman in the middle of that round rug is not going to look good and so far your space is beautiful....See MoreRound rug size for family room
Comments (10)M N , in the pic I posted, note that the widest point of the round rug is wider than the sofa. I think that is one of the main reasons the space looks balanced and the rug doesn't look too small. (other reasons include light visual weight of the other furniture, repeating round shapes, minimal accessories, etc.) Now some of us would typically prefer to see at least the front feet of the sofa on the rug, but I am willing to admit that that pic has me reconsidering ;-) Here is another small room by that same designer... again with some "see through" furniture. And a minimal palette. Obviously, the choice is yours. Do you have a rug in mind yet? And,if the shelves are staying, perhaps consider putting them on feet?...See MoreRound Rug - too small??
Comments (4)For me, yes, it seems a bit odd and there's a lot of "circles" happening - area rug, coffee table and foot stool. What do you mean by rectangular was awkward? Another option would be a large oval perpendicular to the fireplace so both the sofa and armchair feet are anchored....See MoreRound table round rug?
Comments (3)round rug works only if you son’t add a leaf, creating an oval. Make sure rug is a flat, SMOOTH finsh and binding so chair legs don’t catch and binding doesnt curl....See MoreRelated Professionals
