Comments (51)I don't have a problem with mine and my water pressure is pretty good on it too. There's several types and sizes. Get the thicker type and the 5/8in inside diameter. Then get a male and female ends like these: Male hose end Female hose end It's better if you also connect a swivel neck like this one from Amazon and attach it with the female end to the faucet: Swivel hose gooseneck and if you want to extend your hose in the future, it's relatively easy. Just get one of these barbed couplings and clamp the hoses together: barbed hose coupling Make sure you use teflon tape on all threaded connections to prevent any leaks. this is essentially my setup here, but I have a coupling valve key connected on mine instead of the female hose end. I installed coupling valves (It's that valve inside that black hole) all over my yard for quick access to water without having a faucet near by. My hose is also isn't very long (only 20ft) easy to carry and connect at each spot of the yard. Comments (12)Seriously I think the connection to BTU and ventilation exists, but you have to consider why. I had a friend last week ask me how she could sear a steak on her small burners... I told her to use her cast iron skillet and leave it on the burner until a drop of water bounces around on it. I told her not to crowd the pan, and why the steak would suck the heat out, and why cast iron would hold so much heat. She told me she took my advice and then some. While the steak was cooking on one side, she pre-heated a second cast iron skillet she had and when it was time to flip the steak, she flipped it into the other- by now 'hot' skillet. She said it came out perfect. You can imagine my despair in the old days when even at breakfast the alarm would go on if I cooked bacon and eggs (when I lived in rented apartments), even steam from pasta would set the frigging alarm off. Then I needed more water and a bigger pot to boil the water and at least twice the time, because the pasta would just take the water temp right down.. Now with a bigger BTU burner I don't need as much water because it comes back up to temp so much faster. Speed and control is what larger burners are about. You can certainly turn the burners down when you don't need the extra power. Having decent pans will go a long way, the extra power only adds speed and might change what you like to cook. A lot of people on this forum will tell you how important ventilation is when you buy that deluxe fancy range. The fact is, yes, if you are cooking for a big party and food is flying, grease is frying, steam is rising and ovens are roaring, you will need what ever you can get. I can't tell you how many wonderful get togethers I've been to in apartments and homes with old kitchens and friends gathered, and there is just as much heat,steam and grease with those small ranges crowded over with visitors and loved ones....See MoreGarbage disposers. Comments (38)Christine- for me, life would be just plain ewwww, gross. I have put my hand down there (and no I don't unplug either) and it is a fear factor experience every time I've had to do it! I sort of close my eyes and hope for quick and clean removal of whatever I am fetching. It is ummm, a thing I have with reaching into icky places I guess - can't clean out a chicken without disposable gloves on either - no way, uh uh. I do occasionally put baking soda in there and that supposedly helps with odor (what does baking soda NOT do). Mom23Es - we have that disaster on the floor around the table as well as sometimes the trail on the way to the trash to scrape the plates...but that is where the dog comes in handy! Comments (6)We use our super susan for small appliances, which works great. My other corner is closed off completely, with drawers on both sides. I thought long and hard about that decision, and hated the idea of "wasting" space, but ultimately it is effective use of space that matters most. The drawers on each side of my corner get used every day; I developed plenty of space in pther parts of the kitchen for things that are not used as often. The best way to maximize storage space in YOUR kitchen is to map out what you have, and how much space your things need. Drawers are the most efficient use of base cabinets. The space above the fridge is valuable too - that cabinet should be as deep as the fridge. Lots of people put vertical dividers there, for cookie sheets, trays, cake pans. I had my cabinet maker install pull-outs above the fridge, which is perfect for lightweight, bulky items. Oh, and build your cabinets all the way to the ceiling, with extra shelves in the uppers.
