Okay, finally! As you can see the door is beautiful but the paint colors make it look awful. There is one of those metal support posts on the porch which is also painted white. Do you think the dark bronze will be too dark for that front door?

yeah, not feeling that red. maybe more of this type of red? and you can see how they also did all of the trim work in the same color

I think w/your door you could use the bronze color for the trim, or stay with the white.

how about a nice yellow (you have the windows in your door so it will look better, but here's a little peek) (maybe not quite so canary yellow,,,it's the only one I had w/the door straight on that I could photoshop)

I gave you larger numbers w/a little copper plant thing. and replaced your metal post with a thicker one. you could easily change this out

or do the trim in all the same color

I like the red that you have chosen and would consider doing the trim in the same color ( like they did the gray door/trim above).

Thank you Beth. What a great idea for the address - I love it! So many ideas you have presented -but I really like the way the solid gray door and trim is painted. I also love the thicker porch post. Now the only decision I have left is the color. We live in Fresno, Central California, which is 2 hours south of Yosemite. Our house faces west - full hot sun - and our garage has southern exposure. Landscape plan will include xeriscape combined with edible landscape. I will go through color charts and try to find the perfect door color tomorrow morning. Staytuned :)

I found this blog this morning which has my identical house exterior color and the door is yellow, called Antiquities by Sherwin Williams. Any thoughts?

it's a little on the baby vomit scale, but it could work. maybe a tad more in the chartreuse range??

Beautiful door. You could leave the door as is but paint both the frame around it and the frame around the sidelight all black like the "pane" frames in the sidelight. If/when you do paint, try painting both frame black and leaving the door the way it is to see how you like it before painting/repainting the door itself.

NOT a fan of yellow or orange with gray or blue exterior. Gray would visually disappear. If you do paint the door, you might consider a bright bold cobalt blue -- that would "pop" with a blue/gray exterior..

Susan, the blue door looks great. I like Beth's suggestion of a thicker post, and I would paint it white.

get one of those vinyl wrap posts. that metal scroll is blah and too thin.

look how good this looks! get some cedar shutters to match and it would really stand out

what would also look nice with your blue door, is a natural wood post (redwood or cedar). very simple to do. they have the posts already to go, cut to fit, set it into a metal holder on the cement, and coat it w/a uv clear coat so it won't change colors.

some like this (size and color) would be perfect. you don't need the curved parts, just the single post and the cap at the top/bottom.

plant more yellow flowers, maybe a few blue pots.

copper would really pop the blue

you know you can paint your light, yes? I have one almost identical. I taped off the glass portion and used Rustoleum spray paint. looks brand new. do yours in the copper color. and your mail box, and new address numbers
