Comments (12)Hi, we're back! I thought that would amuse you all!! We have returned after a mini-break at No2 daughter/hubby's place. Our kind neighbour comes over to look after all the plants but she tends to be a bit heavy handed with the watering can so I feared for the life of the 'swan siblings'. They have straightened up but have turned a very fethching bright shade of red, they are also rather tall and thin despite being in good light. It has been extremely hot here this past week with temps in high 20'sC to low 30'sC, so I think they should have had some factor 20 slapped on them! A couple more seeds had the smallest sign of a root emerging when we were due to leave and being in a small pot they dry out so quickly in this heat it was my only option to take them with me, but oh, how I suffered for it, talk about being laughed at!! Do I care......what do you think?? (:0P) I'll get you a pic in the next day or so. Cheers! Gill from the UK....See Morehave: 6th annual wny plant swap (2009)!! - woo-hoo!

Comments (3)Oh, no problem newgen! Glad you're getting some good rains (hope you're not in an area at risk for mud slides.) Our drought here has been going on for years, so I really sympathize about the drought in CA. Some folks are saying we will have a wetter than normal winter, down here. I hesitate to believe it...but that would be so wonderful; maybe we can see some wildflowers in the spring! May all your rains be slow, gentle, and helpful...with no more rough winds....See MoreWooHoo! Found someone to share a garden!
Comments (5)I'm starting a little late, but there's supposed to be a late (for our area) frost tomorrow, so it worked out! Just have to find some materials to make a nice bean trellis (don't want to bring anything trashy into their yard!) I'm hoping I can go to DH's old work and find some hand carved stuff to pretty up her yard as a thank you! She is offering tools, tomato cages, organic fertilizers etc etc etc! I'm jazzed!
