We installed motorized blinds in 2014. The motors (Somfy or another reliable brand) have been reliable, but the tall/big blinds require Dear Husband to climb the extension ladder a few times a year to replace batteries. He's about sworn off that task, so we are looking to retrofit to solar, as we have plenty of that. DH is very handy, but I can find nothing suggesting a retrofit, nor good information on battery usage/reliability/solar between the brands out there. Ideas? Recommendations? I miss my view. The blinds themselves are in great shape, and for the expense involved, we'd really be hoping for a less-than-dear solution.
