Comments (7)When I took the trash can to the curb on Monday night, the glow-worms were out in the driveway. I hustled the grandkids out to see them, and although the 11-yr old was anxious to get back to his computer game before his bedtime deadline, the 2-yr old was enchanted (just like grandma). We caught several for him to hold, carefully, as they glowed in the palm of his little hand. i know he won't remember this particular night for long, but I will. :)...See MoreSmile Today - 10/10
Comments (13)A month after Donald MacDonald started at Harvard, his mother called from Scotland. “And how are the American students, Donald?” she asked. “They’re so noisy,” he complained. “One neighbour endlessly bangs his head against the wall, while another screams all night.” “How do you put up with it?” “I just ignore them and play my bagpipes.”...See MoreSmile today - 10/18
Comments (14)@ded ... sometimes when I'm near a person walking their dog, especially the small ones about as high as your ankle, I say, "Just think - if you had a skateboard and a rope, you could let the dog haul you home". Often there's a friendly, sometimes a humorous, reply. Sometimes I continue wiith something like, "That would not be so good on the outbound leg, as the dog might not know which way to go, but there'd be no problem when homebound, as s/he'd know the way then", and everyone agrees. @liira, vintage'55 ... Congratulations, grandma. Good wishes to Mila and family ... maybe mention to the young one with you these congrats and good wishes from many people, including an old man far away. ________ While I've had some health issues they haven"t been too serious.and haven't restricted me too much. I frequently say that my body has spoiled me, for when I ask it to do something, it hardly ever says, "Listen, you darned old fool, I can't that for you any more"! When it asks me how come I'm still around, it'll hear, "Listen Buster - don't forget: when I go - you go! So don't get in a hurry, O. K.?". Greetings to Edmonton and area: my brother and family moved there about 50 years ago and his widow lives there now, with a couple of offspring northwest of town, and I lived in Gainford for a couple of years, almost 40 years ago. ole joyfuelled...See MoreSmile today - 10/10/22
