The only place we can put a TV is above the fireplace. We initially wanted the mantel to go from floor to ceiling but due to the trusses on the ceiling it meant that it would have to stop just below the trusses. Now we feel that that placing the TV above fire place directly on wall is boring. How can we do a TV install and still make the fireplace place and TV install a focal point. We want hidden wires and storage for media players.

We would like to make this wall a feature wall with an accent colour of charcoal blue and possibly clad the mantel... But we feel the placement of TV above straigh on wall will not look as attractive.

The floors will be a light shade of wallnut wood flooring.

Any suggestions on making this wall look modern and contemporary?
