Need some SERIOUS help with my exterior... disaster.
Comments (56)Like the idea of some third party coming over and pointing out some deficiencies and then just "ask what s/he meant by that" and that s/he was fairly adamant that these subs were not doing your build justice. By focusing on the subs, you can give MIL an out. How active is she at the site? Is it possible that she's simply not seen this? or is this a new crew from her usual folks, etc? Is your bank giving you draws? is their inspector someone that you can work with? or your banker? I have a good relationship with the inspector that is working for my bank. If he holds up a draw because the work isn't done (or is done VERY WRONG) things will get real and you'll HAVE TO address them - or else no one gets any money. That might be the most direct way. You have to address these - if you don't - even for the sake of "family peace" - it will rot your relationship like the water intrusion will rot your house....See MoreNeed some help with ideas for a exterior renovation.
Comments (8)Before I scrolled down to your inspiration pictures I was thinking paint the stucco more of an earth color and change the front doors and garage door, possibly to a wooden/wood look door. So I think you're heading in the right direction. If you're interested in seeing some virtual makeovers of the house check out my web site, Creative Visual Concepts. I can show you how different changes would look....See Morehelp! lava rock exterior needs some love
Comments (1)Congratulations on your new home. Its beautiful. I too, love your stone. However, I think the paint itself looks a bit pink on my monitor at least. Your roof appears to be a shade of lighter brown. Your stones, appear to have a lot of brown in them. I would pick a color from that stone, to paint the house itself. Gray isnt the color you are looking for though, with your stone, and roof color. Sorry. I too, love gray, but, sometimes, it just doesnt work with what exists....See More50's bungalow with 70's 2 story addition - exterior design help wanted
Comments (3)I actually like the arch and brick detail, although I do understand houssaon’s POV and it’s good to see different possibilities. I think I would keep the brick arch and restore as much brick as possible and maybe bring in a bit of wood detail, also. Is you would like to see how different ideas could work on your house, I recommend this company. https://www.houzz.com/pro/uoflcardfan77/creative-visual-concepts-kevin-strader...See MoreJenny Deam
