Comments (16)Click on the link below to find those drapes at HalfPriceDrapes - I've been lusting for silk drapes for our living room for forever, it seems, and found these on sale now. I just don't know whether silk might be too formal for our decor, but it's something I've always wanted and love to see in other people's homes. I think your dining room has the type of feel where silk or velvet panels would enhance all the work that has already been done. I could make them myself, but at these prices what I could order and sew myself couldn't compete. I just priced out what it would cost me to order the silk fabric and lining fabric to make them myself and these prices were within dollars of my actual cost - so I'm sorely tempted to let someone else do the work and treat myself for Mother's Day! I've never owned any "store-bought" curtains before, and I have no idea whether this company is any good, but it seems worth it to give it a try. The length I need would be $10 more per panel, but that's still a great price. Here is a link that might be useful: Half Price Drapes...See Morepink in living-dining rooms...was I crazy?
Comments (26)Teacats! Thanks for responding so quickly & for the affirmation & suggestion. Had wondered about a floor lamp in that spot. I think the tree is too small, actually, but didn't think I could do BOTH the tree & lamp...interesting idea. I do have glare issues w/that lamp & the butterfly print, so the floor lamp off to the side would solve that (I think). This summer will be replacing that horrible ceiling fixture in the entrance w/something much nicer! Will also be changing that door at the end of the hall to a paneled door as this plain one looks like it belongs on a tool shed or something! Thanks again! Also, love your handle! Comments (11)CarolT924, I don't have the Whole Wheat up yet and I won't really have rooms where the colors can be easily viewed together as I don't really have an open floor plan. So I can't speak to your question with actual experience. I have some rooms painted Comfort Gray and a large board painted with the Whole Wheat. When I hold those colors up against each other, I personally like the combo. Comfort Gray is fairly close in hue to Quietude but with more gray. Can you get a Color to Go sample and paint as much of the wall as you can in an area that butts up against the Whole Wheat shades? To get a good rendition of the Quietude, be sure to prime the wall before putting on the sample. The samples really aren't paint and don't cover very well. If you love Rainwashed, you will love Quietude. But if Quietude is a little more saturated than you want, you might want to check out Comfort Gray. Sounds dull, but it's really a very nice shade and very versatile....See MoreA Pink that's Soft but not Little-Girly?
